Is it possible to get UCB and UCLA Regent invitation and not get regent from UCSD?

Accepted
Thurgood Marshall College
Major: Environmental Science
UC W GPA: 4.15
UC UW GPA: 3.93
ACT: 31
Accepted: UCD, Cal Poly SLO, SDSU, USF, McGill
Denied: None yet
CA Resident

@winwin111 totally. each UC varies in criteria and focus when examining one’s app. However, I think Regents has a lot to do with your numbers over anything so in that case it seems unlikely not to get regents from SD as well.

lol i tried playing with the html on here. guess it doesn’t work.

@gureum Yes it does work.

A lot of the threads gives you codes that look something like this:

[ b][ size=4][ color=green]Decision: Accepted **

To make that work, just remove [ul]
[]the space between the [ and ‘b’
[
]the space between [ and ‘size’
[li]and [ and ‘color’ (you get the point)[/ul][/li]
Some other ones that work are:

[ul]
[li][ i]These words will come out italicized*[/li]
[li][ U] To underline things[/li]
[li][ S] To strike-through[/S][/li]
[li][ LIST][/li] [ *]Bullet point[/ul]
• [ QUOTE] To quote someone (it comes in a gray box)
[li][ SPOILER] Spoiler
[/li] which works like this:
Cool, huh?
For all of these, just remove the space between the first square bracket and the words of the tag.

@InfiniteLibrary Ah, I see. I was using the incorrect brackets. thanks!

Is FA at UCSD good for OOS?

@travel2wonderland Did you get Regents or Honors for UCSB? My portal says it won’t be updated until March 21 and no one I know has gotten in yet. My Stanford portal hasn’t been updated yet either but I have no chance lol. How did you find out for those 2?

@gureum No probs :slight_smile:

What GPA do we have to maintain during our senior year to be sure that our acceptance isn’t rescinded?

@jaquabert from the admissions site:

@transmitter2342 No not usually

@transmitter2324: Unless you received regents, UCSD like all UC’s give little to no FA to OOS students. Expect to be full pay to attend.

Does anyone know this years Accepance rate?

So happy that I got admitted here! UCSD is one of my favorite schools and the area is unbeatable! still waiting back on UCLA but I’m pretty set on going here. Best of luck to ya’ll, hope to meet some of you at Triton Day!

Hey guys, for those that got invited to the overnight stay thing: is the IDEA Tech option working?
I want to apply for that overnight program but I don’t see that option.

Essays- I attended UC Berkeley’s college application seminar to understand what the UCs were looking for in the Personal Insight questions. The advice that worked for me was answering the questions like interview questions: straightforwardly and with little flourish due to the limited words for each. These essays weren’t a literary masterpiece but I feel that they were direct and encompassed the unique aspects of my personality.

Reasons I think I got in- Good test scores, clear essays, demonstrated dedication to a few ECs rather than spreading myself too thin for the sake of filling out the EC section

Just received an invite in email for a UCSD Los Angeles Reception on March 18th. Looks similar to the UCSB Chancellor’s Reception. Did everyone in the area receive this or a select few?
