UCSD Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@BlueDog457 UCSD is known for posting decisions on Fridays

lol, no one knows.

That’s just what everyone says, 5 pm on Friday. I’m surprised to have heard different lol

Chance me? Please, low key freaking out. I applied to UCSB through tag and am still pending. I’m wondering if I even stand a chance at UCSD, UCB, and UCLA?

I’ve spent several years in ccc. I have two bad years on my academic record. One year where I had to withdraw from all of my classes and another year where I was unable to withdraw from my classes (I was homeless and living out of my car) and I received all F’s even though I never attended class. Those F’s were later replaced with Academic Renewal (taken out of my GPA). It took me a few years to return to school, mainly to stabilize my life, find solid employment, and save for college. Ever since my return back I’ve received straight A’s.

I dont see any change

not today :frowning:

Same here no change, maybe next week

Nothing for me

none here either

Honestly, pretty upset that we still havent heard. Like at least tell us when the decisions are going to come out instead of saying “mid-march” and then changing it to “late-march”. Even if it’s later, I just don’t want to be wondering every day and have to check my portal like 5 times.

Ugh why do they have to take so long this year I’m so anxious. I’m wondering if they’re gonna do an early date at all or just wait until April…

@tamlove Hey! If your major isnt capped then i think you have a very good chance of getting in. I dont think anthro is capped. You look like a shoe in to me. I’ll remember your name and look for it on this forum when admissions comes out. <:-P

Hi everyone. Not an incoming transfer, but I transferred into UC-San Diego last year (FA 2017) from a CC as a BS in Social Psychology w/ a double minor in Computer Science and Business. If any of you have questions about this school, life here, the academics, or the transfer process please feel free to ask! If any of yo have specific questions about the psychology program here, I can definitely answer those too!

@itsromeosuckaa Hey, thank you so much for coming back and offering to answer our questions! How is the atmosphere and vibe on campus? Are people generally friendly and outgoing? Has it been difficult to transition and fit in as a transfer student? How is the grade deflation/inflation?

@itsromeosuckaa How much time has the double minor added on towards your expected graduation date? Also how much has it added on towards your course load you need to take each quarter? Thank you for your help!

@itsromeosuckaa how challenging has it been to get into CS classes since you’re not a CS major?

Thank you so much! Fingers crossed.

@BBoy99 if you’re missing calc 2 for econ doesn’t that also mean you’re missing calc 3 since calc 3 is a pre-requisite for UCSD? If this is the case and you’re missing calc 2 + calc 3 I would say your chances are unlikely

@choukevin Yeah, I am. I didn’t know that UCSD required Calc 3 for Econ. I know now that there’s no way that I’ll get into UCSD. Thanks for the heads up.

@BBoy99 no problem, yeah I know UCSD is the only school that requires calc 3 for econ. super weird, but what can ya do…you will def be fine for UCI though
