UCSD Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@ashleyes

It’s probably too late for that to be honest. Even though they’re going to make us wait a few more weeks to find out, I’m fairly positive decisions have already been made.

@skepta school was HARD

i was hoping decisions would come out today smh

There’s still time!

I really doubt admissions are going to come out any earlier than the 20th :frowning:

Does anyone know how strict UCSD is about completing all pre-reqs? I am missing one Calculus course for my Major. I know UCB and UCLA always raise a big stink over it but is UCSD more flexible?
I have finished all the pre-reqs for UCB and UCLA. I just did not realize that UCSD had different requirements than all other UCs.

@skyinthesky

If the admissions gods are merciful maybe they’ll come out next Friday by the virtue of having not released any of the transfer acceptances early like they did in the previous years. You’re probably right though.

@cricketfan What major did you apply as? I took Calculus 1 and I am now just trying to pass Calculus 2. Dear God, I thought I was okay at math, but Calculus 2 is proving otherwise :))

@Ssamus after no one got in early and no transfers heard in March I am honestly not getting my hopes up, however UCSD is my #2 so I really would like to get in just so I could have some piece of mind

@roohafzahmami101 - It is Econ. UCB and UCLA only require Calc 1 and 2 which I have covered because of Calc BC AP class that I had taken in HS. However, UCSD requires a third Calc course also which I did not realize until just a few days ago.

@skyinthesky i love how we both consider ucla #1 and ucsd #2, so nice to see someone with the same mindset since we’re going through the same process!!

@cricketfan UCSD does not require a third calculus class - it is strongly advised, but not required like Calc 1+2.

from assist.org - “Students are strongly advised to complete the third required math class, Math 10C or 20C, before enrolling at UC San Diego.”

I also applied to Econ. without taking the third calc class. We would need to complete it before we can start our upper division courses. :smiley:

@ashleyes it’s way too late to change your alternate major. I asked admissions office two months ago and it was too late then. They probably already have results rn and just finalizing/organizing everything

Im so nervous… especially since they’re obviously done with the majority of the decisions, just knowing my file is sitting there @-)

IF THEY R SITTING THERE DONE WHY CANT THEY RELEASE THEM :((

It’s very unfair to be honest. In order to find a decent place to live you have to start looking in February, but most UCs don’t release decisions until late April. Ridiculous!

Does anyone know when decisions will be released? (I’m sorry, maybe this was discussed earlier)

@ebonylmocanu based on last year people are thinking 4/20

@OhWhatsHerName thanks :slight_smile:
