Also Calling BS… No Worries. Next week is the week 4sure. This leaves us like 0 time to prepare for Transfer Triton Day
I can’t focus UGHHHH need to know
@Cunningsloth It’s complicated. As California residents, our money is what funds these schools, like a UCSD or any UC, CSU, etc… And plus the whole thing about public universities, when they started, is that they’re supposed to be a place for in-state residents. Not to say that they’re not for out-of-state and internationals, but the whole purpose was to provide a place of higher learning for the in-state residents. In the past few years, the “higher tier” UCs, LA in particular, have been accepting a lot of out of state and internationals to make more money, and the people of California condemned them for it. Also, I believe there are rules they have to follow which makes them accept a certain amount of in-state students, and the average acceptance statistics for in-states have to be considerably lower than for all the others. I’m not an expert by any means, so idk what the details are, but that’s just what I’ve heard from multiple profs. and school counselors.
@ayylmaoooo yeah my counselor told me that, UCLA in particular got a lot of flak for it. It makes sense tho imo, if part of our hard earned tax dollars are going into these schools, we should get some benefits from that. It just nice to be in California, where we have the best public university system in America.
@likeschowder Sunday is a bit weird but I wouldn’t say it super abnormal. I along with many others got accepted to UCI on a saturday
so when do you guys think we will hear from ucsd
I think it’s entirely possible we hear tomorrow. If not, then it could be any day next week but probably not later than Friday. People need time to make plans for Triton Day after all.
If I had a guess it would be by Wednesday.
Hi guys I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about Triton day and was wondering if someone could explain to me what exactly it is, and whether or not it is too late to register.
@“Mr.MilesMorales” It’s just a day where transfers can visit the campus and get tours and see some clubs, class rooms, dorm rooms, etc. I don’t think you can register until you have been accepted
I mean, it makes sense, the California tax payers help the schools so the schools help them back. At the same time, leaves most other states screwed or at least in a way worse position. Luck of the draw being born in California?
