I am a computer science major. I was filling up the UC application for fall 2013.
Suddenly found out that computer science is being evaluated be in impacted status.
Are they going to change the status later? or its kind of forever like those biology major at UCSD.
If computer science major is impacted, then what will be the average GPA to get into that major?
THank you:) please help!!!

Do you have a source?

From what I’ve read recently it was impacted for freshman applicants only. You should be good if your applying as a transfer.

I was just filling up the application, choose major for UCSD, then when I click the computer science. It says its being evaluated to be impacted status, but I didn’t continue reading. So it’s only impacted for freshmen? Are you 100% sure? Cause I went to search for ucsd impacted major, computer science was in it.
Thank you

heres my source:

[Undergraduate Majors at UC San Diego](Undergraduate Majors at UC San Diego)

I’m curious if its going to affect transfers as well.

EDIT:

This is taken from the UC application when choosing the major.

“This major is being evaluated for impacted status. Freshman applicants must also select an alternate major; this does not affect transfer applicants. For more information, see the department website.”

It says freshman only. You’ll be fine
