Does anyone have a clue how room assignments are going to be given out after the lottery? Will we have some input in preference or whatever? And will it be coed? (referring not to rooms because I highly doubt that'll happen, but more like coed among each floor of the buildings).

i had questions about that too… how many people would we share one apartment with? do we get our own room?

They said it will be grouped by the colleges, so you’ll most likely have neighbors/roommates in the same college as you
Not too sure about preferences, but you can pay more for single
and no coed, that’s what I heard
There’re floor plans on the site -> [UC San Diego Housing - The Village at Torrey Pines, West](http://hdh.ucsd.edu/thevillage/)
the number of people per story is different for every building

"Hello and thank you for your interest in The Village at Torrey Pines.

Currently the rental agreements run with the academic year. There are no monthly or quarterly rental agreements. The kitchen is definitely a nice convenience, but an opt-out of a meal plan is currently not an option. Lastly, as room assignments will be by gender and by college, floors are open to all genders.

Hopefully this information was helpful."

I wonder if they mean that its co-ed in the units of each floor or is it going to be all dudes in one unit and all girls in the one unit. That would be lame.

I agree; that would be lame indeed. On another note, I hope this new transfer housing wakes up the socially dead atmosphere of UCSD quite a bit.

im thinking that 5 people / apartment is a freaking HUGE rip off for 1200-1400 a month. The only way id do it would be if i got my own room but then it would be closer to the 1400 range. What were they thinking???
