UCSD Transfers who submited their SIR already...

so now that u have made the choice to go to UCSD (i'm submiting my sir this tomorrow i'm gonna check out davis today just to make sure it does suck)

what are you going to be doing about housing?

what ways are you finding a roomate?

we should try to find roomates in here as well

male 21
from bay area
looking for a male roomate, someone that does not mind some drinking at least on the weekends
i'm outgoing, and talkative i want a roomate that talks at least a bit, i wouldn't like to feel im living wiht a stranger even after 2 months of being roomates
maybe a little clean, udon't have to be the neatest but somewhat clean at least

that's pretty much all i need

1) my friend found a few houses, now its a matter of the tenants choosing us.
2) I have 3 friends who already attend UCSD.
3) Mmm, I don't like the idea of living with strangers

I submitted my SIR awhile ago. When I went to the Transfer Admit Day they had a really informative off campus housing session. Afterwards I went looking for apartments near the area and I'm really looking at the Towers across the street from UTC...it's where a bunch of the kids from UCSD live and it looked like lot of fun. For a roommate...geez...I hate this search, but I'm looking on roomster.net, Myspace, Facebook, and there are two roommate finding things hosted by the Off Campus Housing Office at UCSD on July 12 and 19, I think...

UTC is expensive, so is La Jolla and the whole area around the school, if you go toward mira mesa / miramar/ or claremont it is MUCH cheaper but you will have to commute a bit ... really shouldnt take more than 20 min though.

I personally would rent a house in claremont with like 4-5 people.

Looking near and around Pacific Beach, UTC, and Claremont (starting thorough search after finals). The rent for a 1 bedroom isn't THAT unreasonable. It's certainly not enough to necessitate a roommate (rent is about what i'm paying down here in L.A). Will be moving late June/early July.

stats:
Male, 23
Los Angeles

Likes:
Occasional boozing, quiet, study, long walks on the beach.

Dislikes:
Nerds, the anti-social, over achievers.

oh yeah i didn't want to be too picky but i dislike the whole nerds, anti social, over achievers too..

IF THERE IS ONE THING I CAN'T STAND IS PEOPLE OBSESSED WITH STAR WARS AND STAR TRECK

Good luck in your search, may the Force be with you.

^^ lol...

eh...I say what is "nerd" to some people is "quirky" to others...I personally think quirks are fun...I wouldn't want a boring roommate...

or maybe I'm just used to it because my stepdad is obsessed with both Star Wars and Star Trek...therefore my younger brother is also obsessed (just not to the point of being a "trekkie" thankfully)...

Well, amidst some nerd calling I thought I'd put a call out for a SD area D20 game. I'm thinking either the Hillcrest area or on campus if there's a good place to play. Begginers welcome, no need to even buy books. Will probably not be a rewarding game for strict power gamers. Think 16th century fantasy papal intrigue.

I am not a nerd or anti-social or obsessed with Star Wars/Trek, but nerds are of course welcome to join. And I don't want to derail this thread so please PM if you're interested. (;

My friend finally found a 4bedroom place. he said houses are really hard to find right now so all he can get was a town house. its the complexes 2 minutes up the street from school so that's pretty chill. what's not chill is it's $735 a month before utilities per room. My parents are just going to have to learn to love it.
