Aside from college rankings, how do these two schools compare?
In short, I really like both campuses, however I would like to know about internships or job opportunities from either school and how the econ programs might differ?

I got your message. UC Davis (Man. Economics) focuses on microeconomics. It’s a business/econ hybrid type of program. I don’t know much about the pure econ series but I imagine that it’s similar. UCSD focuses on macroeconomics with emphasis on econometrics. In terms of rankings, UCSD’s program is highly regarded. Davis’ program is pretty good but not as well known. Econ programs are basically ranked off of faculty + grad programs. That’s where UC Davis has a weakness.

Job and internships will depend on how you distinguish yourself. Davis’ recruiting is good. Check out AggieJobs if you can. I don’t know about UCSD but I imagine it’s a little better because it’s San Diego.
