Don’t say my name anymore, leave me alone.

@itzcarol - i think the information that we get (and the peepz that we meet) could potentially be invaluable if we go on the actual admit day. anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong though! but im totes going if i dont get into berkeley…thats why i wish that they would just come out already so i can start booking my flight, hotel, etc etc

Just dropped off my application/$300 payment for summer housing.

nice^

How is everyone able to afford paying for college, books, living expenses and rent at the village, I know financial aid can’t possible cover everything at least it is not for me.
Are you all getting student loans to help pay for your village rent?

Paying for it myself. No loans. Growing up dirt poor is the most fierce catalyst for making sure you have plenty of money.

@ Grimes99
You must get a nice amount in financial gift aid and work full time.

Yeah, I own a business and put in 30-35 hours a week.

Your lucky to own a business and still receive financial aid.
What kind of business?

Yeah, my family being at the bottom of economic totem poll helps.

I own an IT company that does network administration for small/medium businesses around San Diego/Riverside/Orange.

That’s really cool, what’s your major? I’m sure i’ll see you around at the Village.

@CaliMade: I’m poli sci - international relations. I’ll be there June 12th :)

@Grimes–
Small world I’m a Political Science major too. What college did you get accepted to?

Sixth. Wanted Muir, but oh well.

Parents. No loans.

lol calimade, i like how you said it was “lucky” of grimes to be able to own a business and get fin aid. its called “hard working,” and like he put it, “dirt poor.”
and maybe “determined” mixed in with “ambitious” with a little “awesome” on the side.
but yeah my parents are footing this bill thank god.

@redoplease: lol thanks. I knew what he meant, but yes, it’s much more hard work (I was workin 60-70 hours a week while full time at CC, no exaggeration, when starting up) than anything.

Not only am I not receiving money to live while at college, but I’m sending money the other way to pay the mortgage. Assbackwardness at its finest.

aww yeesh SO assbackward. honestly, i dont know how you do it, but keep it up for the next 1? 2? years. are you just going to spend a year at ucsd or two? i feel like someone around here was going to be like a one year-er

Yeah I’m the one year guy (well, a year and two summers.)

ahhhh good luck! if anyone could pull it off it’d be you
