I applied to the Fall 2013 semester of the CLAS at University of Florida. My deadline was April 1st, 2013. Being slightly unorganized my application was not sent until February 27, 2013. Note: I have earned an Associates Degree from Santa Fe College in Gainesville and have met all necessary qualifications for entrance into the UF English program. I was then notified some time later that my AP transcripts had not been received. I called in a panic and was told that my application would not be processed until my AP Credits had been received and processed. I sent them my required AP transcripts which were received April 19,2013.

For fear of boring you with logistics and the dwindling length of my fingernails, I have yet to hear back from my college. Should I worry? Should I call? Having heard from a friend that she knew of a transfer applicant not hearing back about entrance into the UF English Dept. until June, should I just sit tight and wear mittens?

Probably all you can do Kateydee is just sit back and be patient. I’m sure if you have a decent GPA and you met all the minimum requirements, you have a good chance of getting in due to going to Sante Fe. Good luck

I don’t really see why they would want your AP scores if you are bringing in your credits under an AA. UF takes forever with admissions, two weeks before the term started for me.

JoeAce,
I am prepared for the worst. Have a back up university but I do not feel like going there
Finance & accounting are not the same and accounting is what I wanna do. I even read somewhere that transfer students cannot change their major at UF though. So yeah I will stick with accounting and still have “faith” that I can get in. Fingers crossed.

But, honestly, I am not afraid of getting rejected. What I am worried about is that if I cant find any place to stay when I am at my “new” college in August. and, I dont wanna live in the dormitory. @_@

Kateydee,
You should call them. On my application status, it says that my application has been referred to my college for a final decision. When I called my college (about two weeks after my status changed), there were still some documents they needed from me. So, do not always trust what your application status says. It is always good to ask as long as you dont give pressure on them.

If that is whats worrying you, then don’t worry about it, because there are always subleases that are up for grabs. In fact, you can usually get a steal of a deal, because people really want to let go of apartments before a new semester starts.

Hello!
So I applied for CALS in November and was informed that I won’t hear back until July 15. I called admission today and they now say that I need my immunization form and emergency contact info. I asked if I got accepted, because they don’t usually ask for that unless you’re already enrolled (I thought), and they guy said that he an only tell me if there were any holds on my application. Do you think I got in and they might just be waiting for the July 15th date??
Thanks!

There would be no reason to have you submit your immunization form if you weren’t accepted. July 15 is an unreasonable date to let you know, in my opinion. My guess is that you’re accepted. I wasn’t aware that you could have any holds unless you were a student.

I too applied for CALS and the July 15th date is a bit insane. I don’t even have to move there (commuting from an hour away), but that’s not much time to get ready. I’m a low income single mom and really don’t want to spend the money applying to UNF if I don’t have to, but if I have to wait that long to find out from UF I guess I need to go ahead and apply to UNF. I have a lot of legwork involved with finding my immunization records since I haven’t had any in almost 30 years, but I need those at UNF as well, so I guess I should get on that. I will try calling admissions today to make sure there’s nothing they need that they don’t have. At this point I almost with they’d just say no already and get it over with lol.

Just checked my status and it’s still saying sent to college for final decision. I checked ISIS and under my holds it’s saying that I can’t register until I have emergency contact info and immunization form. I don’t remember if I’ve checked that tab before…going to sift through ISIS some more and see if any of it looks like I may have been accepted.

Ugh…under degree audit it used to list all the classes required for my major, now it says audits are only available for undergraduate students. :(

Just wanted to let everyone know I talked CALS admissions last week, and they said were just finishing Summer B applications, and would begin Fall applications. Also, she informed me that I should find out before July 15th! that was good too hear! they only have 1 person going over CALS applications, I feel bad for that person b/c that is alot of work. Anyway, Im guessing decisions should start gradually coming out! I hope we all get in :)

For a second there I was getting excited about them asking for the immunization records haha false hope! Thanks everyone for info- I really hope they let us know before July 15. When is class registration? That would deffinately be upsetting if it falls around the time we’d hear back.
By the way- when I called the other day and asked about what else was needed- the guy said that immunization records need to be in 3 weeks before orientation just to let you guys know.

After reading this thread about accounting, I thought decisions wouldn’t come out till June. I stopped checking my status every day because I was worried. I just checked today randomly and I found out I got accepted into the Fisher School of Accounting for the Bachelors of Science in Accounting for Fall 2013!

I am so excited right now!!!

Anybody know how transfer orientation is like?

Congratulations AgentK! They sent out an email about orientation about 2 weeks after my acceptance letter. It basically had a schedule of what would be going on, but not too many details. It’s from like 8-5, and then we get with our counselor to pick our classes. You should probably work on getting your immunization records sent over ASAP. Congrats!

Just so y’all know, if you have an iPhone you can download the iPhone app. I think it’s called Gatorway. It has an hour-by-hour schedule of what you’ll be doing. So useful!!

Hey guys. They call orientation “Preview” and it is so much fun. Make sure to get there a little early. A bunch of student organizations will be in the ballroom giving out free stuff early in the morning. I got two bags full of shirts and free crap. Make sure you do the tour with a Preview Staffer. The campus is huge and they will tell you the quickest way to get everywhere. Hope everyone has fun!

@ohboymelissa: That’s good news! I believe they have 4 Preview dates for Transfer students and I’m about to sign up for one of them. I believe I’m going to be signing up for the one in July or late June. I still have to complete my immunization history.

I also got the official acceptance letter in the postal mail. It only includes the letter and another page showing ways to succeed as a transfer student. Where do I get the immunization forms?

Are any of you looking for housing? This might be of interest to you… !

Hey guys! I am trying to hand over my lease that I signed for next year. The lease would be from August 2013-August 2014.

I am looking to hand over my lease so I can move in with my boyfriend. I live with 3 girls who all attend UF. They are all very clean and nice! We live in a 4/4 at University Club Apartments on the second floor. The rent is 485 a month, which includes all utilities (cable, electric, etc). The apartment is all furnished which means that all the furniture is already provided!

There is a clubhouse, pool, car-cleaning area, multiple bus stops across the street, free printing lab (open 24/7), gym (open 24/7), and they always have events going on at the clubhouse!

Please let me know if you are interested, my name is Sarah. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have at all!
