UF Fall 2013 TRANSFER

Do transfer students need to pick their own UFL e-mail? Mine seems to be set already for me (I think same as what my GatorLink was)

Hi, I’m new to this and haven’t posted on here before. I got accepted to the UF business school for Fall 2013. I still have 2 pre-reqs in progress and on my admission letter it says I must “complete them successfully” but online it says I must have a 3.5 in all 7 pre-reqs. I called and an advisor told me I just had to pass them, but is this true? I’m kind of worried about this. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue too! Thank you!

Well, I finally heard back from CALS and it’s a no. I should have expected this. The required gpa for my major was a 2.5 and my overall is only a 2.0 because of old grades that were really bad. If you only consider my current grades since going back I have a 3.25. She said she’d take that into account, but apparently it wasn’t enough. Now I’m stuck at UNF and don’t get to study agriculture like I wanted to and don’t even know what to do. Does anyone think it would be possible to go to UNF for a semester or 2 and get the rest of the required prereqs for animal science and try again? I can’t take any more classes at my community college because I’ve met the 90 hour limit and had to appeal to keep financial aid for this semester.

agentk, I just got accepted into fisher as well. still have some things to do (immunization, orientation, housing, transportation)

Any transfer students get a housing contract? I’m still waiting on mine and am worried that I won’t get one.

Hey guys! I was accepted as a Finance transfer a couple of days ago. Pretty exciting! For those who have been accepted, can you click on where it says Conditions of Admissions or no? I wish we could view the necessary information online instead of waiting for a packet in the mail. Trying to find decent housing has been incredibly stressful, I’m going tomorrow to look and hopefully sign something! Does anyone know of any places that offer semester leases or anyone who is subleasing for the fall semester?

Dsteele325: I got accepted 5/20 and my housing checklist still shows I’m not admitted into UF. I haven’t received a contract. I just emailed them on Wednesday to see if anything was held up, or if they’re full, and have not heard back as of this post. I AM admitted into UF, and have already done preview and signed up for classes, and Admissions said I was officially in.

IamthewalrusSs: I couldn’t click on the conditions of admissions part on my application, either. What happened for me was that my major is in a sub-department of my college, and the department adviser emailed me the morning after I was admitted with a conditions letter to sign and email or fax back. I’m also looking for housing, and there are a few places out there that have semester leases, but I didn’t write them down. You can try [Swamp Rentals](http://www.swamprentals.com) for an apparently neutral bunch of listings, which has all kinds of details, including floor plans and pricing, plus amenities offered.

Has anyone heard from the CALS yet?

Hi all!
Kazzak, I applied for CALS in DECEMBER. Yes you read correctly. They emailed me back in February saying to email them my spring grades once they were in (since two of my prereqs I was taking in Spring). The day my grades came out, I emailed and sent my transcripts right away. They then told me I would know by July 15. Still checking 5 times a day and still nothing! It’s driving me insane!

Yeah I’m in the same boat except i applied back in September right when the application opened.

Ugh! I just don’t understand… people should be given decisions on the basis of application time.

I’m on the same page as you guys. I applied November & also check 5 times daily haha

For those applying to CALS, what is your major?

Mine is biology

My major is Microbiology

A quick followup to DSteele325 - here’s what I got back from the housing department:

“According to our records you are still on the waiting list for Fall 2013/ Spring 2014. We recommend to check your email regularly in case of a contract offer. We are still processing cancellations and once we get a batch of cancellations through, then we offer those contracts to students on the waiting list.”

I suppose a housing offer could come through later in the summer, but I’m going to proceed as though one isn’t coming.

Let me know when you all hear back. I’m so anxious! My friend was just accepted in CALS on Friday… so jealous! Crossing my fingers for all of us.

Do you know what their major is? Gpa?

Major was I believe Botany? And GPA around 3.0

I was denied admission to cals a couple weeks ago. My intended major was agricultural education. Today I talked to someone at the college and may have a second chance. I’m trying not to get my hopes up but I am so excited. Cross your fingers for me lol.
