Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2013 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision.

Woot woot! Even though I sent my application in January 9th it turns out my high school transcripts didn’t make it there till February 4th and my college transcripts made it to them January 22nd so I guess that is why it has taken a while for processing.

Mine still says 2-4 weeks. I called 2 weeks or so ago and the guy I talked to said that my college transcripts had been recieved but not my high school (which I was afraid of because I had given the request form to student guidance aides who were barely paying attention to me). He said that as long as my foreign language wasn’t done in HS that I didn’t need them. Now I’m afraid he was wrong. I better call back tomorrow and verify that they don’t need them and if they do need them, go back to my old HS and give the form to an adult. SMH…

I applied to the College of Business. I realize their requirements are straightforward and there isn’t really a guessing game of whether or not you got in but I’m just as anxious to receive acceptance notification so that I can start making preparations and be happy and all that jazz.

Do you think that if someone applied with less than 60 credit hours that they would be referred to their college? Or would they not even make it past the university? I know you need 60 credits I was just wondering. Thanks!

To FLFriend: From what I have read and understood you can apply if you are completing 60 credits before enrollment at UF. On the UF website it says you have a greater chance of being admitted if you have an Associates Degree. You do not however have to have the Associates Degree and 60 credits done before you apply. For example I applied with only 57 credits and I will receive the remaining credits in the spring and graduate in May with my Associates Degree before Fall enrollment would begin. If you are applying and not completing the 60 credits before enrollment you will not be admitted as this is considered a lower division transfer (freshman/sophomore) and UF unfortunately does not accept lower division transfer.

This link to the UF website may prove to be helpful as it discusses credits and transfer.

I submitted my application mid-November, but didn’t get my transcripts over until Jan. 30. Within 1-2 weeks after they received my transcripts, the message changed and said my application was sent to my college. It’s been about 3 weeks since they said my college received my app, and I haven’t heard back yet. I hope I hear soon because I’d like to make a trip over and visit the campus, but I don’t want to do that if I end up not getting accepted. I heard back within 10 days of submitting my application at UCF, so this waiting game is a killer because I find myself checking my application status 5 times a day.

My application was finally sent over to CLAS for a final decision last Thursday after sitting there for 7 weeks. I couldn’t believe how long it took, and the only reason it was sent was because my dad had to call since my calls were getting nothing done. I heard CLAS takes 2 weeks to make a decision, I wonder if spring break counts…

My dad called the admissions office, who I had also been calling. He told the woman how long my application had been sitting there and that all of my transcripts had been sent in weeks ago (which is what I had been saying, as well). The woman couldn’t believe it hadn’t been sent yet, so I assume she sent it over to CLAS herself. I guess UF takes parents calling more seriously than prospective students calling, unfortunately.

Are you having problems getting your application referred for a final decision too?

Unfortunately, yes… I call the admissions office like twice a day hoping to hear something good but all they said was i just have to be patient.

i don’t know what i should do. something is going wrong :(

I called the admissions office on March 1st because I had previously been told that they recieved all my college transcripts, but not my high school transcripts. The guy I talked to said that as long as I didn’t complete my foreign language requirement in high school (I didn’t) that they didn’t need HS. I called to confirm that. The same day my status changed from 2-4 weeks to “We are calculating your GPA…” and it listed the dates that all my info was recieved and showed that they still haven’t recieved my HS transcripts…that I requested a month ago from my FL HS and was told could be electronically sent. I may have some choice words for the guidance aides when I go back tomorrow to request them again lol. Anyway…my point is that I think that calling does make a difference. Either that or it changed because the deadline for admission to CALS had passed.
