Thank you Gator224. In total it was about a two months wait, but the College of Business just has a straightforward 3.5+ gpa policy in 7 pre-professional courses so there wasn’t much to review. Hang in there!

I was interested in the College of Business Administration but I’ve determined to study accounting at the School of Accounting.

I just really hope it is as straightforward. I have at least a 3.5 and will have completed the 7 preprofessional tracking courses by the end of this semester (before entry to UF). I’m just worried because my managerial accounting course is still in progress - and I’m not sure if they need to see a grade for my managerial accounting course before they can make a decision for me. I had talked to advisors at Santa Fe and they had told me as long as the course was in progress, I should be fine.

I am currently taking the remaining 2 out of the 7 preprofessional tracking courses now. Will graduate from Santa Fe wth an AA by the end of this spring semester.

Hopefully I can get accepted because I’m checking the status a few times every single day! This wait is really difficult! The status is still the same as yesterday Calculating GPA and eligibility…

Accounting has different admissions folks than Business. They normally want to see grades in all prerequisite courses before they will make a decision on an application. Feel free to check with them but it will most likely be after grades are posted in May that you’d get a decision.

Congrats to all who have already been accepted.

I am quiet baffled that I have not heard back from admissions or the college of business. I applied in late December and all of my transcripts were received by the second week of January. I have 4 out of the 7 pre-reqs complete with above a 3.5 gpa. My application status is still stuck on the please wait 2-4 weeks for it be reviewed by admissions and sent to your respective college, etc. Countless calls to admissions and nothing. Waiting indeed sucks even though I know I’ll be conditionally accepted.

Gator224: I am transferring from Valencia College and I applied for Fall 2013.

Agent K: Thank you. This is the manual for the school of accounting. It lists all the requirements and courses that must be completed at the time of application.

Thanks everybody for the help! I just checked my status today (yet again) and it finally says that my application has been sent to the college for final decision!

I hope this means I didn’t need to have a grade (course currently in progress) for Managerial Accounting and/or Microeconomics, since the admissions office had already checked and verified my GPA and eligibility. Those are my last 2 prerequisite critical tracking courses.

I hope there is more good news to come - I really hope I just get accepted because accounting is really what I want to do.

I find myself constantly checking the status few times throughout the day too!

I sent my application in on February 1, 2013. I’m not really expecting to be accepted, but I figured I try just to test the wait time. I applied to the College of Engineering (Computer Engineering). Yesterday I got an update saying,

“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2013 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision.”

From the looks of it, that’s Step 2 of 4. I had a friend who applied early last year for Fall 2012 admission and didn’t get accepted until July! I’m just trying to see roughly how long the decision process takes. This is week 5.

“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2013 term has been referred to your college for a final decision.”

I will admit, they have been working fast since Spring break and now that they’re back I imagine they’re working even faster so that everything is in place before finals. This is Step 3 of 4. The final decision is the hardest I imagine because the college no longer cares about your AA. Now it depends on competitiveness and availability.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision after it has been referred to the college? My application was sent Feb. 28th, and I’m wondering if I’ll get a decision sometime this week…

Never mind! I just checked and I was accepted! I know nothing I can say will make the wait for any of you go easier because it was the same for me when I heard others get accepted. That’s the drawback of a rolling admissions. I wish you all the best of luck!

Agentk,
Mine application is with the college as well, so you and I are enduring the same wait! I check my status so many times a day, I just want to find out already.

This is so stressful. My status still hasn’t changed from 2-4weeks notice. Worst part is I have been accepted to every other school I have applied to (FSU, FAU, USF) UF has been my #1 chocie for a while now but I don’t know if I can deal with this waiting game.

I actually had an admission cordinator from the Depart of Education contact me about making sure all my transcripts are in and then they can start processing. I took that as a good sign but then that was over two weeks ago.

I called admissions to see if they processed my transcripts and the lady told me that it sometimes takes up to 3 weeks for the mail room to process all the mail.

I know some have been waiting longer for some type of status update but when do we stop putting other schools off?

More hope for me. I contacted the Computer Engineering advisor and he told me that I need to take one more class in the summer to be accepted. So my official admission status won’t come until May, but as long as I complete all my classes this semester, I’ll get in.

Nice!! I’m tempted to contact an advisor in the School of Accounting too… but I’m not quite sure what to say. Did you just ask them on your status?

I actually called to make sure I was elligible for admission for the fall. If your status says it has been referred to your department, you should speak with an advisor. My advisor was actually looking at my application as we were talking! Don’t pressure them about the status. I think a better approach would be to ask about the courses needed specifically for your major. If you feel better to email them, go for it, although I emailed roughly 10 different people in my department and only got a response from one.
