Online it said that they need YET ANOTHER transcript. “CREDIT BY EXAM - ADV PLACEMENT” Does anyone know what this is? It’s passed 5 so I can’t call.

I emailed the admission director at CALS to ask her if I would be given the chance to try for another major since my gpa isn’t quite high enough for the one I want or if they would take into consideration that the bad grades were a long time ago and I am doing much better now. All I got back was that my overall gpa by UF calculations is a 2.0 and that she hasn’t looked at my application yet, but would take the grades from my previous college into consideration when she does. Ugh…I really need to figure out a backup plan.

I figured that “CREDIT BY EXAM - ADV PLACEMENT” were my AP scores so they could make sure that I passed my AP Econs so I went ahead and had them sent.

Patwill92:

You should be fine with that process.

Found out today that I was accepted!

Congrats Gator224!!! That is wonderful news!

I’m still playing the waiting game :(

Thanks Agentk!

I would call someone from advising as much as possible, it really does help speed the process up.

@Gator224: Just to confirm, you are referring to advisor within my specific college right? (Accounting)

Yes, you would contact an accounting advisor. I was told all the different colleges have been swamped with applicants this year, and that is why they are taking a while with decisions.

All of my transcripts have finally been received! After trying for almost a month and sending them 4 times lol. But now hopefully I won’t have to wait too much longer. I applied for criminology in CLAS. I saw someone said it only took about 13 business days, how long was it for everyone else?

Hello! I have applied for transfer in Fall 2013 to the school of Journalism and Communications.
My overall and professional GPA are both 3.63 I sent my application on February 12th and my last transcripts were received on March 11th. I have all me pre-reqs done and will be transferring with 73 credits. I am the editor in chief of my college’s newspaper and I’ve interned at a radio station and now a local magazine. I am Hispanic. What do you guys think are my chances of getting in?
My application is currently in the “being evaluated” stage and it has been like this for about a week. My patience is shrinking!

Would it be better if I went to go visit an advisor from the Accounting school?

This wait is going to be the death of me lol. I understand that these things take time and I’d much rather them go over my application carefully than make a hasty decision, but I have to make plans lol. I need to have time to apply to UNF, and I need to know if I need additional classes in the summer. Ugh! Also I have to appeal for financial aid because I hit max hours, and being able to say I was accepted to UF would be very helpful. I scheduled a campus tour on the 8th. Maybe I’ll have a chance to talk to an advisor then.

My application has been in with all my transcripts since the second week of January but I’m happy to announce that as of this evening I passed the Warrington College of Businesses review and I have been accepted for Summer A. Very happy right now but to everyone waiting don’t worry they will get it done.

Sent in my transfer application middle of January and just heard back yesterday; I was accepted for Fall 2013. I’m currently attending Florida State and UF was my school of choice when applying for colleges in high school, but I was denied at the time. Still undecided if I will in fact transfer now. Anyways for those who are wondering, I applied as a Finance major with a 4.0 GPA (I’m only a freshman but because I took 12 APs in high school, I will have 72 credit hours following this spring semester).

This wait is killing me!! All Summer decisions have to be out by May 1, that’s almost a month!

Has anyone picked a date for fall preview? Do you guys have any information on what it’s like? Can we bring a spouse with us? I have no idea what to expect so if you guys know anything let me know!!! Thanks so much! Congrats to all who have been accepted and good luck to those still waiting!

This link lists the transfer preview dates

[Dean of Students Office UF](http://www.dso.ufl.edu/nsfp/orientation/preview/dates)

I do not think their preview registration is open just yet as I do not see a place to register on the site and have not received an email about it.

No, it hasn’t opened up yet and I know the dates I’m just curious what to expect.

Aw, I just saw the bad news of being denied to the UF accounting program for Summer 2013. I applied to Summer to hopefully be able to have another chance at Fall if Summer didn’t work out. I kind of figured it wouldn’t work out since I didn’t have a grade in Managerial Accounting yet (still in progress)

Anyways, they asked me to call the UF Business school, which I did and they said I qualify for their business program. My second choice is Finance, which is what I may do instead.

My question is (should have asked the admissions officer on the phone but I forgot) - would I be able to start as a transfer student in Finance and then switch to Accounting? Am I locked into studying Finance since I would be a transfer student?

All advice appreciated. I will call back on Monday, but anxious to know and should prepare questions for the admissions officer for Monday. Thanks!
