UF or USF for undergrad?

Major: Accounting

UF is by far the better school. However, if USF is giving you a significant amount of merit $$$, then why not consider it?

Then pick UF.

Good Luck!

UF also weeds out a lot of potential accounting majors. So if you’re VERY confident…

UF is more fun…

most school weed out accounting majors, just make sure you get a B or better on your first two accounting classes or you will have to plan for a finance major i.e. like my daughter had too

It’s going to be ok. It really is.

You can make either choice work.

For my two kids, UF was a good first step to learn how to be more independent. We message each other constantly, and used to use skype ever week with my daughter (my son will have nothing to do with that!). We’re also about 2 hours away, so we see them at least once a month (they drive home or we drive to Gainesville).

It will seem a bit lonely, but you’ll adjust and make friends. The key is to get “engaged” with campus, join some clubs, do volunteer work, attending sporting events, and make a few friends. It’s not all about classes and you’ll find UF has a lot to offer.

Good Luck!

I’m deciding between UF and USF. One of my concerns is being away from home. UF is about 2 hours away so I’ll be living on campus while USF is 15 minutes away and I’ll be living at home.

It’s always been my mom and me together and we have a really close relationship. While cheesy, she’s like my best friend. My point is that there is no strong desire to leave home or anything as others may experience. Also, I’m pretty sad about leaving my dog behind. I had her since I was 8 and have been in charge of feed and taking her out every day. She’s also starting to grow older and I’ll never forgive myself if something were to happen to her and I wasn’t around.

I have to make a decision in less than 2 weeks as UF’s housing deadline is approaching and I’m even more confused than ever. (My major is business administration.) I was originally waiting on both of the school’s financial aid package arrive to help me decide but USF still hasn’t updated my financial aid. I really just don’t want to regret my decision.

I’m just nervous about all the changes. Not sure how I’ll handle it. Might sound ridiculous but I’m pretty scared, never been on my own.

I’m not sure what answer I’m looking for here but advice is appreciated.
