3.77 GPA still have classes to finish. i’m applying to CLAS for Zoology, GPA isn’t everything. For the colleges like CLAS where you had to write essays those essays could be a deciding factor in whether you get accepted or not.

One of the biggest factors is whether or not you are coming from a university or community college. Huge priority is given to CC students with an AA, and also it is important to note what major you are because that can be THE factor. CLAS is unique in that it has like 1000 majors, so ones that aren’t overpopulated will have a better rate for acceptance than those that are heavily populated. Fortunately I am applying to CALS so I am less concerned with what major I am.

gpa is basically everything for transfers at uf.

again, that’s not my opinion… it’s just how uf does it.

Yea I mean gpa is the whole show, but it doesn’t matter what your gpa is if your college/major are getting serious budget cuts and that seems to be especially true for CLAS since it is the biggest college and all. I mean if they have room in the major and you have the gpa then yes you are in but if the major has too many people already it doesnt really matter what your gpa is.

I was wondering if anyone has called or found out recently when exactly the decision for summer B transfers are going to be posted. I’m getting frustrated for my friend who has been waiting to find out for what seems like forever.

there are no specific dates for selected terms.

like post #213 states transfer decisions will begin being released (for all terms) on april 15th…

that is the same time frame as last year

and is the same date given by a uf rep in CLAS.

I am coming from Broward college(communitty but they have a few 4 yr programs so they call it a college now) Member of science club, PTK, and a Navy veteran . hope that gives me an edge

I dont think it will =(

especially if you can’t spell community…

then again what do i know?

it’s not possible to make a mistake like hit the “t” key twice. cuz i spellz reel wells and stuufs. ass

Ive been accepted!

Congratulations! You have been offered admission to Florida State University for the Summer Term, 2009. Please refer to the letter of acceptance being mailed to you for additional information.

fsu lol

there is only 1 transfer orientation 5/8/09, I really hope UF makes up their mind accordingly.

…anyway

Hey all…

I’ve been following this thread for a couple weeks now as it seems to be the only source of info for UF transfer hopefulls. I’m curious if most of the people on here are coming from a CC or a 4 year institution? I’m currently an fsu student and I applied to the uf generic bsn program…as far as gpa goes, lets just say my overall gpa meets the requirements but my pre-professional gpa is more competetive. is anyone else in this same boat/or happen to know if they mainly look at the pre-prof gpa? if anyone has any info i’d love to hear it! thanks

^I’m applying from the other school in Tallahassee and I’m basically in the same boat; I want to say more but I can’t because it would be REALLY easy for someone from my school to know who I am and that may effect the GREAT benefits I am receiving right now. However, I will say that I spoke to a representative directly at the department that I am choosing to apply to. I was told that humanities are extremely important to have completed because of the ensuing budget cuts; its harder to get into a humanities course than a professional course at UF. To answer your question, I think its important for a student to have a competitive professional GPA, sufficient Humanities, and a satisfactory completion of the CLAST requirements.

3.93 overall
4.0 pre-prof
AA from CC

if you’re merely meeting gpa requirements i wouldn’t have even wasted the $30 app fee.

teb0w, stop posting, you’re an ass. i’m pretty sure most the people on here would agree.

mac, i really couldn’t careless what your opinion of me is. my posts are honest and factual… i’ll stick with that.

merely meeting gpa requirements won’t get you into uf as a transfer student… that’s a fact.

grow up and join the real world… someone isn’t going to hold your hand and walk you through life, sorry to say.

Couldn’t agree more macbook. Teb0w you are giving out rude comments, not facts. There are many majors which are unpopular, such as statistics which they are begging people to apply for. If you know so much why are you even on this forum?
