it’s almost like you enjoy telling people to give up hope. the way i see it the $30 is worth spending if it’s something you really want. After all you cant get in if you don’t apply. Unfortunately things are even more competitive this year than last, but i hope everyone on this discussion board gets accepted. If not, then don’t give up, go to USF or one of the other schools and reapply to UF next semester. On future posts, it would be nice for people to be more respectful to others and use a little tact. It’s bad enough we’re still waiting for acceptance decisions, the last thing we need is other people being negative and crushing someone elses hopes.

I think that everyone who posted in this thread deserve to be admitted because they have exceptionally shown so much passion. Unfortunately, it’s mostly about GPA’s, but as another person said, the letter of intents for CLAS majors can give you that slight advantage.

Good evening everyone!
Seems like tebow is at it again on here, lol.
Any new news with UF?
Waiting waiting … : )

To Tebow’s defense, at times people are overly idealistic and don’t tell people their actual chances. Nevertheless, his comments are unnecessarily callous.

thank you for that obvious statement, dabigdawg.
lol

been lurking, first post tho. Regarding admissions based solely on GPA, there are plenty of majors in CALS that only have a few transfers each term…which means a complete lack of competition. Many of which offer M.S. and PhD’s after completion of undergrad program. Entomology & Nematology, Soil Science, Environmental Science to name a few. They might not be too glamorous, but hell it’s a degree from UF.

I make it a habit to not tell anyone anything I can’t prove. With that said, I know SEVERAL individuals that graduated from my former high school and they were admitted, with the MINIMUM GPA requirements, into UF. I have friends at UF and FSU who have all gotten in either as transfer or high school senior applicants, most of whom had GPA’s well below 3.9. Community College applicants have, by government stipulation, a right to attend a state university over 4-year applicants. So if you are a community college applicant with a 3.6+, and all the course requirements, I will bet my life that you’re in. If you are a 4-year applicant with the requirements and a 3.8+, I KNOW are in. For everyone else, it all comes down to how many freshmen applicants ACTUALLY pay the $200 registration fee to attend UF. That will give the admission staff an indication of how many more transfers they can squeeze in without getting in trouble

I’m sure most of you have accessed this page, but here’s a link anywho

wow only 8 went into SNRE in 2007?..SNRE must not be popular, I wonder if they admit every single “qualified” applicant? (School of natural resources and env.)

(considering theres only 100 people in the college itself…)

and heres another link, i had not seen this one before

everyone here is free to speak their mind.

having that said, if you don’t like me for whatever reason… that’s just fine. Not everyone in life is going to agree with me or like me. Take your own advice.

however, i’ve yet to insult anyone, call anyone a name or go after anyone in a negative manner. if i disagree with you, it’s just that a disagreement.

if you’re so fired up over my posts that’s your issue. I mainly post here in reference to decision time frame (date) and what uf looks for in transfer students.

when i speak about gpa and say meeting the minimum requirement (which is often a 2.0) won’t gain you admittance… i speak truth. a mere 2.0 won’t gain you admittance into any program. Uf is far too competitive.

Uf looks for high gpa’s in their transfer students… i’m sorry if you disagree with that.

I don’t know why everyone is getting so upset, tebow is only being logical, not insulting.

Most of the people admitted as transfer students have 3.5+ GPAs. The minimum requirement is a 2.0. That is a HUGE gap, and someone with barely a 2.0 statistically does not have much of a chance of being admitted.

UNC National Champions!!! Woooo!!! Go Tarheels!!!

I don’t have problems with anyone on here; we are all trying reach the same means. For the 4-year students that are discouraged about applying, don’t worry. Most of the transfer applications UF gets from 4-year students are probably bitter freshmen, who didn’t get accepted as high school seniors, that are trying their luck at re-applying. I can guarantee that the majority of those 4-year applications did not come from junior applicants, and that’s why so few are accepted. At least, that’s my hypothetical analysis of things lol. I’m not saying that all junior applicants get accepted, but does anyone think I may be on to something?

well, uf does ask that you complete 60 credits before applying and priority is given to CC transfers with an AA degree.

so… if you don’t meet at least one if not both of those requirements… you have less of a chance at being admitted.

-shrug-

I saw an academic adviser at UF today (I’m a student there) for questions about transiet classes and I asked her when transfers would be notified (for a friend of mine) and she said for CLAS he should definitely know by the end of May.

end…of…May.
Is this some type of joke?

I wish. Trust me, I’m disappointed too. We are hoping to live together and I’m waiting until he finds out before I sign a lease anywhere.

@ teb0w,
I was talking about the 4-year transfer stats from last year, before UF required that you complete 60 credits. I think most of the 08-09 transfer apps came from bitter college freshmen with fewer than 60 credits, and that’s why those numbers look so daunting.

@ bullybeatdown,
LOL! If what you said is true, I can’t help but laugh; that sucks.

It’s not that big of a deal really. There are always empty apartments here.
