UF Transfer thread Fall 09

Hey lizard what were your stats?

This wait seems to be bringing out the best in everyone…

From everything that I’ve found out,

1.) Last years Transfer thread.
2.) What UF’s website says.
3.) What the CLAS official (to which I was referred by my prospective department) said.
4.) Information provided by you guys on this website.

I suspect I will have my decision between the 15-30th of April. Therefore, I’m going to relax and wait to be proven wrong.

@vzon or tebow

Can you link me to where the UF website shows that they will give transfer decesions April 15th? Can’t seem to find it! Thanks!

they say 2-4 weeks after deadline (3/1) , that is approx. 4/15

total blind estimation imo., from previous transfer thread and this thread it seems to be normally distributed throughout april

Hey where is everyone checking their info on the check my status icon? Is there somewhere else i should check? Also, has anyone gotten into FRE for CALS? if so what were your stats? Thanks

Here you go gatorgirlash113,

This was the hyperlink I talked about on page 15 of this thread.

vzon with the quickness.

that’s the link.

that website is not written by anyone really affiliated to ufl.

plaza.ufl.edu prefix is where people make their own homepages

not saying its wrong though, just not reputable

@ teb0w

Let me start by saying I really do hope that decisions come out by April 15th because I applied in December and am tired of waiting. On the other hand it is slightly bigoted of you to simply disregard and discredit other people’s posts on this forum. My source is a leading figure of CALS, whom I am in contact with often through my place of employment. As far as I know the date of June only has been given for CALS. And noone is saying that the decisions will not be given til then, just that that it is the deadline by which they are required to tell Fall applicants. So please be a little more cordial and respectful. Take what others say as a possibility.

I’m going to be officially anxious after April 15th…

@ dert

there’s a huge difference in saying “everyone will now by june” and “transfers will be notified in june”

knowwhatimean

After reading the last few dozen post I am beginning to think that maybe this and other threads like this one are being monitored by some UF researchers to see the phychological effects on students and acceptance notifications. Just to make things interesting they give out different information to everyone and see where the cards fall.

Sorry just the conspiracy theorist in me :)

not really teb0w… just think your a real pompous piece of work and can’t help but hope you dont get accepted

thankfully dert… your opinion of me means absolutely nothing in my eyes.

and

“not really”?

lolr

i can’t help but hope you get less upset about differences of opinion and more upset about things that actually matter in life.

@ jking

that would definitely be funny. in fact i laughed out loud at work when i read that. I hope they get enough data for their research soon.

I’ve been reading this forum for weeks and most of you are so easily offended by Teb0w. I have no idea why. All he seems to be doing is disputing inaccurate information.

Anyway, the College of Engineering is Apr. 15th right now. Here is what the receptionists told me. They compile all of the information from every transfer student. The ones who meet their requirements (minimums or not) and fit the bill get checked as “admitted” and then on the 15th all of that information gets sent to the Dean of the relevant college. The Dean rubber stamps it or angrily disputes his/her minions’ decisions.

They also told me to take Chem II ASAP and that they are taking a chance on me, which to me means I may get the angry stamp.

Basically, I think the whole point of the receptionist is data entry and to blow smoke up our butts to keep us interested long enough to wait out the decision.

Good luck.

FINALLY another engineer…thanks for the info banjo…which type of engineering are you going into?

Civil right now, but I’m looking into doubling Mechanical/Civil, although I’m sure that’d be awful. You should call your department and ask for a status… they were really helpful to me.

What about you?

@ banjo
Do you think that is how all majors/colleges are? Like, if you meet all the requirements it’s just that simple to get in- I hope so… regarding the Dean’s rubber stamp lol. I just have no idea because I know nothing about the University system and the admission process…

I’m just so nervous. I go to SFCC and in my MMC2100 class (Journalism writing) a girl on Friday told me she got accepted for Journalism.

My major is Public Relations, but still in the same college.

Then, another source told me EVERYONE found out Friday, but like I said in an earlier post, not a very reliable source.

I’m figuring Monday I’ll know, Wed. at the latest.

I’m sooo stressed…

@ vzon

The link to the April 15th date doesn’t work! It says, “Forbidden”…

Any others?
