it’s still so early… i’m still praying to get into uf.

however, i’d love to go to somewhere like nyu… of course it all depends on my grades and L-sat scores.

my passion is in criminal defense… i want to be a trial lawyer.

as far as interning this summer… no. I’ll be working like crazy as I did through my first two years of college. i pay for everything minus tuition.

o yea, i asked a question a while back if anyone know where uf posts (if they post) avg. gpa for incoming transfers? here at fiu there are very few 4.0 students or even 3.9 students…throughout my stay I only met 3 people with gpa higher than 3.6…extreme slackers imo (academics are not hardcore), must get out. does this trend follow when it comes to CC?

i can personally testify most (not all, of course) at the CC level are in school just to graduate with a degree-if it so happens that’s with a C+ average that is fine with them. not necessarily what one might deem academically challenging.

at My Browardcollege there are a lot of students who are just going through the motions, and are there just to hang out, it would seem. Some only want an AA degree and as was said earlier if they get by with a C average they don’t care. They’re just wasting government money from the financial aid they get.

You are right, which makes it hard for people who actually care to do well. Some unfortunately can’t afford to go to a university for all for years.

Hope for some of you- I got accepted to engineering with a 3.8 overall and 2.7 pre-professional.

No typo. Maybe THEY thought it was a typo. But I will say I am an 8 year vet from the navy and had to bring both GPA’s up from a .84 from back in the day.

I was also told engineering is a lot different in that the majority of the transfer applicants don’t meet the requirements in the first place.

damn i bet if I applied for engineering i would have got in easy then…(mathematics)

w/e hope clas sees my pre-reqs as ‘impressive’ then

anyone know if they let in a certain number of people to each major? or would they be unbiased to which major you choose?..(for example if 500 applicants were applying to poly sci with 4.0 AA…would they accept all those poly sci or do they CAP per major and let in less qualified applicants to under-demand major?)

Pretty sure it goes by major for transfers. I know that civil engineering was given 50 something spots so I can’t switch to chemical or mechanical.

Just got off the phone with the College of Journalism at UF and they said they’re still reviewing applications and people probably won’t know till end of April and into some of May… I applied in November for Summer B and June is approaching quickly. I am losing patience. Anyone from College of Journalism know if they got accepted or not already?

But teb0w you have to remember, the people that you have you have insulted have only been relaying facts given to them by UF officials as you also did in post #456. so eat crow
