ughh can someone please give me a finalized list of UVA OOS requirements?

gpa, kinda bad..

2250+ SAts hopefully

quality ECs

VERY broad aspect of me, I dont feel like duelving into details.

I have asked a lot of people about the OOS requirements for UVA, and everyone is giving me a different answer, will you guys set the record straight?

~thanks

Requirements? What are you talking about?

To get into UVA OOS, the mandatory reqirements and the OOS 25-75 percentiles..

i think uva looks at gpa the most.
then sats and other things
and there are no "requirements"

lol, you must be new to the admissions game. There are no requirements for admission. The IQR for SAT scores of OOS students is not published. Generally, around 30% of OOS applicants are admitted, and, as a group, they have an average SAT score above 1400. They are usually in the top 5% of their class and they have great ECs.

oh I thought all colleges have baseline requirements .. like they will reject you if you dont meet the x GPA , y SAT, and z ECs cutoff

I am relativly new to the game

I wanna apply OOS to UVA I will probably have a lower GPA but higher SAT, dont want to give concrete #s but say 3.7 w and 2250+ SATs

with a GPA like that I'd recommend you save your application money.

Requirements:
1) Nobel Prize winner
2) Olympic champion

well there isn't that great of a difference between my wGPA and uwGPA and I got all the good ecs, 150 hrs volenteering in the hospital

what is your rank

top 25%? from a blue ribbon school whatever that means

I hear a guy with a 2140, 3.45 UW and good ECs got in

You may want to review your stats again to make sure of the numbers. Top quarter of your class is a very, very difficult position to get into UVA from out of state or instate, as well as a number of other universities on the same level as UVA. A standard OOS student applies within the top 5% of their class.

I understand that but there are always exceptions I would imagine

yeah - usually those exceptions are 1 of a very select few things.

parents donated lots of money

you can do something with a ball on a varisty level

you've overcome some terminal illness or some extremely horrible set of circumstances

you're black

other than that its pretty frickin hard to get in with a 3.4 regardless of what your sat's are

Im Indian

5 on the AP Physics hopefully
2300+ on the SAT retake
lower GPA 3.5 un w and 3.7-8 w

if I write a good essay (I think I have a few good topics on my mind already), will I still have NO CHANCE! OOS and ED/EA?

not saying I am gonna do ED/EA just asking..

It depends on your rank. If your GPA places you in the top 5-10% of your class, you will be competitive.

i don't think anyone can tell you have NO chance...just a SLIM chance. but a 3.5 UW and top 25% of your class wouldn't be extremely competitive in-state.

Oh, I missed the top 25% part. Yea, you might not have no chance, but it's incredibly small.

darn UVA is competetive, I imagine UNC/CH is worse not to spark and argument there

but whats with the stories I hear about the guy witht he 2140, 3.5 UW and good ecs thats basically me except my SAT score is better

here is a thread I found from a google search, search string= "UVA OOS"

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=156983%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=156983</a></p>

dont want to sound like a whiney ***** here but Im just posting what I know

yes i think your chances would be very, very slim even ED.
