<p>Ok, to clarify:</p>
<p>This interview is primarily for the Honors College ONLY. The material "may be used in GPPA decisions," but my mom's friend, who is on the decision board, says that it's really only used for borderline decisions.</p>
<p>Around February 1st is when the GPPA decisions committee themselves call everyone they want to invite back for an interview specific to the GPPA.</p>
<p>hmm i called today and they said that the interviews on the 26th are for GPPA (i asked if it was for honors, gppa, or both, and she told be straight out 'GPPA'), and that applicants who receive a second interview should be notified at the end of february. hm..we'll see.</p>
<p>ppenguin: doesn't GPPA require two interviews? you said february 1st they would call for interview decisions, acceptances by phone and rejections by letter. sorry, haha, im just really confused because im hearing different things from different people.</p>

I called the admissions and they said that there will be more than one interview day for the FIRST interview.... some ppl get the 26th and then there will be 2 more interviews.....this is like 3 batches of groups for the first or honors college interview....then comes the GPPA 2nd interview..... so what is february 1st doomsday call when there are two other batches.... anyone know???</p>
<p>I just called GPPA admissions and they told me the upcoming interview on the 26th was for the Honors College and the GPPA (a "dual interview"). Around February 1st, they should be calling people for the GPPA interviews. The man I spoke to didn't know anything about a second or third batch of Honors College interviews.</p>
<p>Hey all -- hopefully I can clear a few things up for you all. To those of you applying to GPPA programs in Med (or Dentistry, or any other program that requires 2 interviews):</p>
<p>The first interview you go to will be both an interview for the Honors College and the first interview for GPPA.</p>
<p>There are multiple dates for the first interview. The first date for first interviews (does that make sense?) is this Saturday, January 26th. This interview <em>does</em> have importance with regard to GPPA decisions, as I'm pretty sure faculty from the College of Medicine receive the results/comments of the interviewers from the first interview.</p>
<p>Depending on the first interview, successful applicants will then receive a call inviting him or her to a 2nd interview, specific for the GPPA program, at the College of Medicine. In my experience (though probably not officially) being invited for a second interview means you've probably been accepted to the Honors College. However, from what I know/have heard through fellow GPPA Med students and other friends of mine, being invited for the 2nd interview does not necessarily indicate acceptance into GPPA. In terms of admission to GPPA, the second interview is just as, if not more, important than the 2nd interview.</p>
<p>Keep this in mind though - it's very possible that students <em>may</em> receive invitations for the 2nd interview before some applicants even have their first interview - like I said, there are multiple first interview dates at the Honors College. I'm not sure what schedule the Honors College is on, so I don't really know who gets invited when.</p>
<p>2nd interviews for GPPA can occur anytime between February-March, and all applicants aren't necessarily invited at the same time for the 2nd interview. I remember my GPPA interview was in early March, and as I recall the COM representatives were calling students for 2nd interviews even as I was there. It seems then that interview invitations are rolling (but it's not rolling admissions).</p>

<p>By the way, I heard that the people who were called for the early dates for the first interview tend to e better candidates for the GPPA program. A girl told me that it seemed that people who had better stats were called for early dates and the dates after correlated with lower scores....anyone else heard this?? if this is correct, then do people who get later dates for the first interview don't have as much of a chance into gppa?? thanks again.</p>

<p>I called and spoke with Ms. Volpe...she works with the GPPA...yeah, the 26th is an interview for both the Honors College and the GPPA med...its a 1st round for GPPA Med...if they are going to call for a 2nd round for GPPA med it would happen in February and early March...i didn't hear that about the higher scores and earlier interview dates...i was confused about whether the Honors College had a 2nd round interview and they dont...</p>

<p>interview guy said about 750 interview invites for honors college, 600 of those accept an invite. 500 of the invitees will make it into honors college. He also said 200 are applying for gppa med. only 40 of them make it in. Didn't say how many are invited for interview to gppa med.</p>
<p>I just got a call 30 minutes ago--I'm into the honors college and I have a second round interview! The dates I got were the 13th, the 14th or the 20th in case anyone wants to plan.</p>

<p>The first interview is kinda intimidating because they bring all of you together at once and you get thrown at the interviewer for 20 minutes. I thought it was a really short time to talk to someone, but I guess they liked me enough to bring me back. I didn't find anything TOO hard, but just be prepared.</p>
