@SuperBatBoi01 can i be added to the discord
@canex Congratulations for your daughter becoming a James Scholar. It looks like what you are describing is the business honors program, and it comes with a renewable merit scholaship, and the amount could vary depend on applicants. Hope this helps.
Anyone who got into second choice major planning on submitting the Decision Appeal Form?
As to an admission decision that gave you second choice major, you can attempt to appeal to get your first choice and doing so will not be considered as a negative against you as far as your current admission is concerned, i.e., there is no downside to filing an appeal. However, to even get to first base on such an appeal, you do need “new and compelling” information. And such new information excludes your first semester, senior year grades and any new test scores not previously submitted, because neither of those will be considered in determining whether an appeal will be granted.
In other words, to get any real consideration of your appeal, you should consider it necessary to present something that is actually new, other than seventh semester grades or test scores, and that is compelling. Rehashing what is already in your file is not going to result in an appeal being granted.
Thanks for the clarification. I have done some significant achievements like publishing a research paper and filing an independent Patent. So that would be a valid reason right?
That would be something new and of value, and yes can provide it.
Is merit aid still coming out?

My son got accepted today, does anybody know more information on Housing
Also does anybody know does Urbana allows you to switch majors after one year? Is that a possibility?
My kid got into Mechanical Engineering at Urbana and she also got int University of Florida. Which one is best? Any. Idea on class size and what prospects if we choose Urbana.
UIUC is far better than Florida. I don’t know much about class size

Anybody can give any information on Engineering LLC housing please
@Seminole123 Engineering class sizes have increased significantly in the last 10 years due to increased enrollment to offset state budget cuts. I don’t really know how they compare to other schools, though. Many core classes are very large professor lectures with medium size breakdown classrooms taught by a TA. It may not be until the more specialized 300-400 level classes where they become high school sized classes in some majors. On the plus side, the new Mechanical Engineering building remodel should be done by the time they get to those classrooms!
I spoke with the College of Engineering today. She said the regular decisions were sent out late this year, delaying scholarship notifications. She said that, as per the letter that was sent, those who were notified will find out in the next two weeks. Last year, students were notified in late February.
