Hey guys I got in :)! Found out 3 days ago and it took them 12 days to process my application

rasd765,

Very surprising! I am sorry to hear that. I think you should appeal the decision and see what happens. You have nothing to lose at this point

congratulations!!! see you in the fall

did you submit your sat score or act? I know its a factor for admission decisions for sophomore transfers.

Gracefavors, yay :)

I won’t appeal, because it will just be pointless. I am OOS and I did submit SAT scores (2020). My HS GPA is only 2.9, was almost going to drop out… anyway that is another story.

I am okay with this decision, I applied to other schools.

For those transfer students that have already been admitted to UIUC for the Fall of 2013 I am curious to know if you are entering UIUC as a sophomore or junior?

I am currently at a community college, and I completed the transfer application for the fall of 2013. I applied for the computer engineering major, and I met the priority deadline. If I am admitted I will be entering as a junior. I am just surprised to hear that transfer students are being admitted already when UIUCs “Dates and Deadlines” section of admissions states decision for Fall 2013 students will be by mid-April 2013. So is there a chance of getting my decision sooner? April is just too far from now especially since others are already getting denied and admitted. Well I guess I am just anxious to know the decision for my application.

Anyone that has received a response with a little insight or information on when or if you met the priority deadline for your application would be appreciated. Thank you!

Roybot, I called admissions about this last week.
They said there is a chance of receiving a decision before mid-April, but it depends when the committees meet or something. I’m guessing you will receive a decision before that date though.

uofiapplicant, I appreciate the quick response. Well I guess there is nothing much I can do but continue to check if the application status is updated. Hopefully in the next few weeks because I would hate having to wait until April. If my status is updated I will make sure I post on this thread.

Hi everyone. I’m in the same boat as you guys. I applied to Illinois as a transfer but for some reason they still haven’t received my high school transcript. I ordered it over 3 weeks ago. I called them a week ago asking if they received it yet and just haven’t updated the status, but no one could answer anything so just to be safe I resent the transcript a week ago. How log did you guys wait for the status to say complete after you sent your transcript?

My transcripts were updated very quickly, I believe they were sent electronically, but I’m not 100% sure.

How do you know how many credits they will give you?

I am an international student and I just realized that the section “Application Type:” changed from “Transfer” to “Transfer Junior”. Does this mean they already reviewed the courses and would most likely give me the credits for a junior transfer?

Has this happened to any of you?

Thanks in advance!

That’s a good question Tiquicia, I just noticed that as well.
I think they review how many credits you have, and calculate the GPA based off of those credits. So I assume they are going to give you Junior standing based off the credits that they have evaluated.

Uofidreamer, my high school transcript was sent via USPS. From the day I requested it to be sent to the day they were marked as received took about 7-8 business days. I am surprised yours haven’t been received after 3 weeks, and I probably would have resent them as well.

Tiquicia, that is interesting. Although I am not an international student, my “Application Type” is listed as “Transfer Sophomore” even though if I am admitted I should be a Junior. By the end of this Spring 2013 semester I will have completed all the coursework to be a junior. Well I will keep an eye on it to see if something changes.

thanks for the responses @uofiapplicant @Roybot

Yeah same here, if I find out anything about that I will let you know. Lets hope that that change of status means we are one step closer of being accepted.

Thanks for the responses! Yeah, I was really surprised as well. This never happened to me before when I was applying to schools as a freshman. I guess they are either laying around at the office and no one has updated the receiving date on the application because of all that craziness with freshman applications, or they got lost in the mail. I hope it’s the formal…

And good luck to everyone! I hope we all get accepted :)

today, I met with an Illinois admission counselor and she told me that they try and give out the decisions within 2-3 weeks from receiving all of the materials, so that the students can start registering for classes by the end of April.

Awesome news Uofidreamer.
Hopefully I will get my decision this week.
It’s been 19 since I sent in my fee

Uofidreamer, that sounds like great news. All my materials were received by the end of January so if they do get back to applicants within 2-3 weeks I may be getting a decision soon. Well I appreciate the update, and I wish everyone the best. Hopefully we all get some good news.

Just got my decision today.
Accepted into the ACES college for Consumer econ. and finance.
Pretty elated at the moment. Good luck to everyone else!
