I got accepted to CS COE aaaaaaaaaaaaa
I just got accepted to the communication program!! My first ever acceptance (besides my safety)!!
Congrats to all who got in too
@Sumner Congratulations ! WOuld you mind posting your stats and when you submitted the application?
I got in too! I am a Junior in Poli Sci. Where are you all planning to live?
The transfer cluster sounds intriguing, but I am wondering if I am a little old for a dorm.
I should have said that I will be transferring as a Junior. I am a Sophomore right now.
@resonanx sure!
Major: Communication
College GPA: 4.0
Quarter credits when applying: 70 credits
EC: Weak (minimal clubs and volunteering), since they only let me enter my college ECs while the majority of my leadership work were in High School.
Essay: I accidentally submit my application, so my essay is full of freaking errors. I freaked out, but they let me resend my essay through email, but I donāt know did this hurt my chance.
Yea, I believe I didnāt present myself at best for this app, but I am super glad I got in. Iām still waiting for all my other schoolsā decisions, some of them are like in May and June! So I am wondering when is the deadline to accept/ decline their offers? I donāt wanna accept any offer before all my decision comes out
I was accepted just now!
CC GPA: 3.83
HS GPA: Truly awful. I didnāt submit my my HS transcripts though, I submitted my GED only.
Credits: 54
ECs: Pretty strong. Two part time jobs, multiple clubs, volunteer work, and a political internship.
Essay: Pretty mediocre, in my opinion.
Go Illini! Iām so excited. Congrats to everyone else who got in!
Major: Computer Engineering
GPA: 3.5 (mostly due to classes I failed/got Cās in during my first attempt at school six years ago. Since returning Iāve gotten all Aās and one B)
Essay: I wrote about being a single parent and wanting to give a better life to my son.
I have all of the prerequisite courses for the major completed as well.
As for ECās Iām a single parent so I canāt really do a whole lot outside of school, but I do work as a math/chemistry/physics tutor at my community college.
Iām sure my GPA is well below their average admit for Computer Engineering, and that makes me extremely nervous.
Can someone chance me?
Transfer from California Community College
GPA: 4.0
Major: Economics
Will have 67 units by the end of Spring 2016
I have finished all pre reqs
ECs= Economics and Financial Accounting tutor, leadership position on my schoolās student Ambassador, used to be a Member of cultural awareness club.
Essay: My counselor says itās solid.
I was admitted today! 3.7 College GPA from Purdue and applied as a sophomore for Global Studies, so excited!
@resonanx Your stats are identical to mine. 4.0, 67 units by the end of spring, california community college.
I believe you have a really high chance to get in. BTW, I saw you on the Berkeley thread too, I also received an interview opportunity, are you an international student too?
@Sumner Hey sup ! I hope I get in though. Yeah I am applying to berkeley as well. I am an international student. This is so odd because the interbiew is 200 dollarsā¦
Question: Do I need to do anything else besides submitting my FAFSA to get the MAP Grant? I just became Illinois resident this year.
The MAP grant is a first come/first served kind of deal. All you have to do is file the FASFA. You know, assuming there actually is a MAP grant this year.
Also, when is the deadline to accept the offer? Iām still waiting for my FA packet.
I called them, they told me it was May 1st.
Also I got accepted just two days ago!
My stats:
California Community College
HS GPA: 2.6
CC GPA: 3.9
Major: Philosophy
EC: Design Internship and clubs in High School
Essay: 8.5/10
Applied: All UCs except Merced, USC, NYU, BU, Cornell, NW
Accepted: UIUC
My first acceptance
