UMASS Amherst Decisions 2022

Today is January 15th. Nothing has been posted here since January 11th. Wondering if there are others besides us who are still waiting on a decision notification for an Early Action application? From mid-December to mid-January is what Admissions had announced for providing these notifications. At what point would it become appropriate to contact Admissions about this?

has anyone heard from the college of education yet?? getting worried haven’t heard anything yet and today is January 15th.

Im out of state

Haven’t heard back. Also, for a friend, what are the chances of getting accepted after being deferred?

@ex2x01 most of the seniors at my high school last year that got deferred eventually were accepted, maybe to an alternative major. Some were accepted late, like May and some were accepted into the Spring class. I am not sure I would be happy about that but it’s good to have options.

is it bad that I haven’t heard back yet out of state?? applied to education program

When would it be acceptable to contact admissions about an application decision? Especially since I’m OOS and other OOS students with my major have received decisions.

same thing happened to me. I emailed them yesterday they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I am out of state too.

they emailed back and said they were releasing decisions till end of January and no specific order

Did any RD applicants get their pin number for UMass yet?

@gsoffer It is crazy to me that you were told end of January for notifications for EA applicants! These started rolling out in mid-December. Many schools are able to release all decisions together at same time. Might be time for them to update some internal systems.

We’ve experienced the same with some other colleges. More applications than anticipated, I guess

My son got deferred to RD. He was asked to confirm his interest before Feb 1. I guess that that’s when they start working on regular decision applications.

@UMASSDad That is a bummer to hear. Curious to which majors your son applied? He has good grades and SAT score? Even more of a bummer if you are an alumni and he was deferred. I wish your son luck on being accepted from RD ppol. My son is waiting to hear still on EA.

Hi, my son was not accepted into Isenberg, like we applied to. Instead, they accepted him as undecided into arts and science. Didn’t know they could/ would do that. Sad. He will probably be attending UNH…a great option! We are grateful

Wish you luck, Jjay!

He applied to the School of Public Health (dietetics major). His grades are not great - WGPA 3.42 (5.0 scale). SAT - 1370. Plenty of extracurricular/leadership activities.
Got accepted to URI - but no merit scholarship.

@UMASSDad - may I ask how you know no merit form URI? My son was also accepted last week but we haven’t received anything in the mail as far as merit/aid. Was he mailed a letter?

Based on what I heard from other people, URI typically communicates merit info with acceptance letter. Our letter came last Saturday. No merit info included.
Still counting on RD for UMass Amherst. Back up plan: UMass Lowell, URI (with financial aid), Framingham State (small school but excellent nutrition program).

i have still not heard. when do you they are going to release another wave of decisions??
