UMN dorm reviews: T-hall, frontier, and 17th Ave (can't decide)

I am hoping to attend UMN next school year as a freshman and am deciding early where I may like to live. I have a list narrowed down to 3. Pros and cons of each would be appreciated.

  1. Territorial hall
  2. Frontier hall
  3. 17th Ave
I have heard T-hall has a reputation of being a pretty big party dorm, where as Frontier comes to be a close second. Is this true?
I am a pretty big party animal when given the opportunity and am looking more for a party scene but space for a break every now and then. I am also slightly considering going greek and joining a sorority.

My daughter was recently accepted as an out of stater (WI) and has exactly the same dorm list as you (as well as joining a sorority). A girl who graduated from her high school last spring is a freshman in Territorial and has told us the party reputation seems over blown. She really likes it, the great location, and is in a learning community there (business school). She said Frontier would be close second but that 17th Avenue, although very nice and new, has a totally different vibe (but does have the freshman Greek learning community).

By the way, we spoke to the housing office and they anticipate deposits for fall 2018 opening up around November 10th.

can you expand on the thought that the vibe at 17th is much different?

She said it is a beautiful dorm, just quieter, farther away and more laid back than those in Superblock. This site provides a ranking and review of dorms and lists 17th with the top ranking:

You wouldn’t think 17th would be much more quiet due to it being practically on frat row, and within a 5 minute walk of Dinkytown. I have heard that yes it is not as much as a party dorm as those at Superblock but it still does have a fair amount. I could be wrong though.
