This just posted on Carolina Connect:
There will be an outage affecting ConnectCarolina and other systems on Thursday, Jan. 22, beginning at 5:00pm and ending at approximately 12:00am as part of the spring census activities. Census is the official University enrollment reporting date. All faculty and staff are requested to please log out of ConnectCarolina by 5:00pm on Jan. 22. Students will NOT be able to use ConnectCarolina for all functions during the outage.
Sounds like Friday, January 23 is the date!
Wow, exciting!! Has this type of “census for the university enrollment data” happened in the past?
That’s awesome! Good luck everyone!
This next week is going to kill me.
@college67 If I get into both I think I will have to visit them both again to compare and contrast! UNC has always been my dream school, but money is definitely a factor, and most likely Chapel Hill will be the more expensive, since even if I get in, it will be unlikely I get a scholarship! I have the grades, EC, and leadership, but I am still worried about acceptance!
Enrollment census happens every semester… It is the last day for schools and depts to add/drop a course for students using the web based course registration system in ConnectCarolina.
The outage may be a bad thing since I don’t think they can do both add/drop classes and load decisions at the same time. I hope we do not have to wait until the 30th! Thoughts?
I’m hoping it’s next week. last year the outage happened as well but decisions were released the following week, but that could have been because of the snow and the EA submission deadline had been pushed back a week due to technical difficulties with the common app. The only thing that does seem consistent throughout the years has been an instructional email on how to view your decisions 1 to 2 days before actual decisions are released. so when one of gets the email we will all know
Do you guys know around what time they would be released if on the 23rd? I don’t know if it’s possible to tell, but I’d like to know because I have school that day haha
They usually release around 5-6 pm typically.
The ‘when will the decisions be released’ mania has officially started. @-). I’m so nervous!
Hey Yall! My friend just got accepted under early action. His acceptance said that they were staggering admissions. Does anyone know anything about this?
Really? Well that’s a first…is he in or OOS?
Your friend was accepted EA to Chapel Hill? When was he accepted? Today?
actually, i don’t buy it…UNLESS he’s a recruited athlete and those folks are sometimes brought on earlier…
Would 10 APs in high school help my cause if Im from out state? gotten a b or better in all of them
Wait, y’all. I heard from my friend that some people she knew got accepted and something about emails. I have no idea if this is true and my connect carolina hasn’t changed, but I don’t know anymore. Why would they stagger and not tell? I’m so anxious…
@paniniman That’s a good number of APs, but scores on AP exams also matter in addition to ECs, volunteer, etc. You probably already know that though haha
Were those people that got accepted in state or OOS? Also were they recruited athletes? This is making me very anxious…
