It’s been a rough year to say the very least. We all are affected by COVID-19 and all the dreams I once had for NYU and Cornell went to complete crap. I feel worthless and that I am not the student I once saw myself to be. I cried a lot over this but in the end I realized that I am not letting one or two simple rejections define me and that I have to work harder to make my dreams come true. I don’t know where to start or what to do so let me tell my stats to give a better grasp of me.
SAT: 1450
GPA: 3.78 (weighted)
Extras:
Student Government (Freshmen year)
Bowling Team (1 Year)
Model UN (2-3 Years)
Debate Club (Founder in Senior Year)
Key Club (2 years)
NYT (a program where I learned to code HTML and CSS)
Volunteered at Elmhurst Hospital (may have heard about it recently due to the COVID-19)
Helped my Middle school for a few years via tutoring kids or setting up classrooms
My goal to transfer to is NYU or even Columbia, which yes may be more work or more intensive but I am willing to work as hard.
I don’t know where to start. Do I retake the SAT? What is needed for a college transfer? Should I join a lot of clubs in my first year of undergrad? What are the best tip and pointers for a good college transfer? Anything literally will help me!
oh and the major im trying to do is either computer science or medical or enginnering. Any major in those fields would make me happy!
Thank you!
