Dear Admitted Student,

Congratulations! Your outstanding academic record distinguishes you as one of UCSD's top applicants. We want to let you know that the ECE Department offers students a wonderful educational experience. ECE students major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics. We have:
a faculty of world renowned scientists who are committed to undergraduate education
small classes that enhance student/faculty interaction
a flexible 5-yr BS/Masters program
a very active internship program that partners with industry (wireless, biotech, aerospace and defense companies)
a rich environment for undergraduate participation in research in Nanotechnology, Communications, Electronics, and Intelligent Systems
programs that are gateways to biotechnology systems, computer systems, and other specializations
a Central Library that is right next door to our department
a supportive learning environment
I have attached a short pdf with some pictures of ECE and UCSD. If you cannot open it, please use the web site link http://www.ece.ucsd.edu/about_us/about.html, and also visit our department web site at http://www.ece.ucsd.edu to learn more.

so did everyone get this or few ppl did ad does this give me power tht i can use to bargain my financial aid.

what are your stats thats good that means you are like in the honors program.

Wooow, congratulations, Desbravo. :)

It looks like the e-mail was sent out to people with specific majors, too.

Much kudos to you. Now we get to kill ourselves all over again with college courses. Guh... I at least thought some of it might be over and left @ high school.

I never got any email from UCSD...ever

Though I was accepted into winter quarter 06

i am juss wondering if i can bargain for aid.i am a domestic applicant and my stats aare 1420 sat1 800 phy 760maths2 and 600 writing come from a 3rd world country from a backward school. living alone in united states took a year off college. second genration college student. whts honor programs and how are normal and honor different

I got this email too. I think they just sent it out to everyone who got in for EE, CE, or engineering physics.

i didnt get anything, i was undeclared

How do you "bargain" for aid with a public school? I don't think UCSD handles aid like a flea market transaction.

i meant like ask them for more aid or ask them to match offers i am getting from another college

You may be able to do that with a private school, unlikely with a UC because it is a public university with formulas for everything. But, hey, there's no harm in trying.
