Is applying to all UC’s a good idea or not?
What are my chances of getting in any of the campuses with a 3.75 weighted gpa?
UCs recalculate your GPA by their own method. If you want to assess your chances at UCs, you need to recalculate your GPA by the UC method. Using a GPA weighted some other way will likely be misleading.
First of all, if you are ELC eligible (top 9% of your HS class or statewide), you do not need to apply to UC Merced since if you are not accepted to your choice UC, then your application will be forwarded to UC Merced.
That said, what is your intended major since this can make a huge difference on your chances at the UC”s? What are your test scores and EC’s? Are you a California resident? How many UC approved Honors, AP/IB or Dual Enrollment courses have you taken?
What is your UC GPA capped weighted using this calculator? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
You can apply to all the UC’s if you have the money $70 x 9 campuses but you are better off targeting a few campuses based on your major, stats and interests.
Statistical data based on the UC capped weighted GPA and not major specific:
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79:
UCB: 1.8%
UCLA: 2.2%
UCSD: 7.2%
UCSB: 10.1%
UCI: 11.1%
UCD: 16.6%
UCSC: 43.8%
UCR: 63.3%
UCM: 88.7%
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:
UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1%
UCM: 96.1%
Although UC’s are GPA focused, your GPA alone is not the only part of your application that is considered.
tough to say with any accuracy without test scores and ECs - with a 3.75. you are below the midpoint for all of the UCs except UCR and UCM. As noted above, UCs are really GPA focused so, it will be an uphill climb for most of them.
I’d encourage you to apply to several but, also consider CSUs like SDSU and CSULB.
Good luck.
