Nice to see admissions decisions are coming out already. I misunderstood that for engineering they will not release any acceptance till all EA applications were reviewed. - http://admissions.uc.edu/apply/deadlines.html
I’ve received multiple emails from UC to apply for various scholarships and also received a Christmas card from the Engineering department. Only thing is, I haven’t been accepted yet. Getting anxious!
Applied to Engineering on10/22

@CollegeGuy2018 same here! Got the apply for scholarships email and the general UC information pamphlet in the mail. Hoping this is a good sign. I’m waiting on Case also, two more days
Accepted to the Lindner College of Business for the Business Analytics program. 4.0 uw/4.8 w 1520 SAT single sitting, NMS Commended, 4-year varsity athlete, multi-year civic+community service/internship.
My daughter got her acceptance letter into DAAP on Sat. We are very happy but the letter was kind of vague on what to expect in terms of scholarships and financial aid. She was asked to submit a portfolio for a chance at a scholarship but nothing else was mentioned. Is this just standard and we may receive something else soon? My daughter wants to get into the honors program and applied for it. She has a 33 ACT 4.0/4.5 GPA and many AP and CCP courses. We were expecting some scholarship opportunities there. Her other schools she heard from were a little more thorough in what to expect.
My daughter applied to DAAP for Fine Arts for painting/drawing- she applied at the end of Nov. My assumption is Fine Arts may not be as competitive as the other programs at DAAP and that’s why we heard already?
@cheetahcrazy123 Engineering decisions will come out late January as per admissions office. I called them on Monday after seeing that someone here had mentioned being atmitted to the college of engineering. They assured me that NO DECISIONS FOR COLLEGE OF ENGINEETINGVHAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED AT THIS TIME. They also confirmed the late January target for release. I hope it helps. It’s hard to see everyone else getting decisions, but they said that Engineering is competitive and they are looking at the entire EA pool before making any decisions. Good luck!!
How? Someone posted that no admissions were made to CEAS per, a phone call made earlier this week. Congrats, but I am seeing two different stories on this thread.
@gandalf78 are you a transfer student? I was informed that all acceptance for EA CEAS will be out late January. How us it possible that only you would get accepted before EA period was even closed? The CEAS does not do rolling admissions as per UC’s own web site, and I confirmed that info by calling last week. They wait until the entire EA pool is in and review all applications together. Something does not seem quite right here.
@mardong: Freshman applicant, not a transfer. The letter came from the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management with a brochure styled “Next Steps,” and had this language: “Congratulations! After careful consideration of your academic achievements and other application information, we are thrilled to offer you admission to the University of Cincinnati’s Mechanical Engineering program offered through the College of Engineering and Applied Science for the 2018 Fall Semester.” It also provided instructions for payment of the confirmation fee.
The discrepancies you describe are probably just a function of the inefficiencies inherent in the bureaucracy of a large public university. I really wouldn’t overthink things.
