UF’s holistic admissions can seem random at times, so keep that in mind. At a guess, UF seems like a high match.

About 50% of admissions is based on Academics, with GPA and Class Rigor being the most important, then the essay (it matters at UF) and test scores.

The other 50% is based on non-academic factors, like EC’s, community service, work, etc…

Your GPA (and UF GPA) is a bit low. If you took the most rigorous class schedule available at your high school, then you’ll likely OK. You also want to move up some in your class rank, since UF will consider you against your peers (about 72% of enrolled freshman are in the top 10% of their class). If you can raise your ACT score by a point or two, that would also be of help. You have until the end of December to get UF any additional test scores.

On your EC’s, if you’ve played a sport or participated in a club for multiple years, that’s a plus. UF likes to see a commitment to an activity.

Finally, it’s a bit easier to be accepted if you apply as a freshman to start in summer B (the 6 week summer tern, right before fall).

Good Luck

Are your parents OK with paying OOS tuition for UF?

^^Gator88 has a great analysis for you above. Would follow those recommendations.
