University of Marlyand Early Action/Priority App

Hello everyone!
So I heard a rumor that Maryland takes almost all of their kids from their priority applications in November, and only like 10 percent in January-so it would be like REALLY heard to get in if you apply in January.
Is that true?
I want to apply in January and already missed the November deadline, so I'm wondering if it's worth it at all.

I doubt that’s the statistic it actually is, but the priority application is used by everyone because there’s no restriction like ED and the benefits are so much more.

Remember, College Park, like any other college, has a limited slot for the class of 2015. If they’re looking at your application from the January pool, chances, are, there aren’t many spots left.

so is it still worth applying since I can’t make the Nov deadline?

eafp668 - what you have said is true - I heard it from a Maryland rep last year. Still - if you missed November 1 - go ahead and apply RD. You still have a chance - if you don’t apply you will never know.

grr! Is this same statistic true with most colleges?

I don’t think it is. Maryland is kind of unique in its priority application. “Most colleges” offer ED and EA if not rolling admissions, so that statistic may not apply.
