University of Miami Class of 2020 EA Discussion/Results

@Rightofway123 can you please elaborate on your previous post about individualized Presidential Scholarship Awards? Most schools are pretty formulaic for these type of awards, whereas the larger merit awards are more selective and competitive (Singer, Stamps etc).

My daughter fortunately knew of her acceptance two weeks ago when she received her invite for the Singer Stamps interview weekend. She did just receive her official acceptance letter yesterday like everyone else, and a Presidential Award ($25k).

Illinois, 36 Act, white female, 4.0/4.0uw 4.79/4.0w, >700 Sat II Math II, Bio and Physics. 7 APs Score 5, plus 6 AP this year.
Leadership ECs, 7 Sports seasoms, Varsity Captain, and many service hours.

Good luck to everyone.

Patience.

There is not set formula at miami. What is say in this forum is based on actual knowledge. They look at geographic area as well. Someone in Massachusetts may get a scholarship and someone from new York may get nothing with the same stats. Also, they look at the overall application to see how.you fit into the school. They want to attract kids from all 50 states. Miami is unique.

@livv0054 my scholarship email came a few hours after the acceptance email, patience is key! also, schools can be really unpredictable with scholarships, so while your stats are above average for Miami, it isn’t necessarily guaranteed. good luck
