@polisci2022 Since the full scholarship competitors got notified last night and their emails say the registration for the competition opens tonight at 6pm
Probably not secrecy so much as managing expectations. They probably weren’t able to make a published date in the past and caught grief, so are now being vague and saying “by end of January.” If it’s earlier, they will have undercommitted and overdelivered.
@40flsunshine why would registration for scholarship weekends opening at 6pm tonight have anything to do with the rest of the EA applicants’ decisions? Am I missing something?

I know this is stressful ! Everyone wants to already but all we can do it wait. I personally think it’s going to come out next Thursday or Friday because that’s when it did last year . Also, like 2 other colleges release their decision that day ; FSU & UMD. When decisions came out in December most of mine came out December 15th! Just wait till next week & try to think about other things, next week will be here before you know it ! Best of luck <3
Unfortunately, since my D17 didn’t get an invitation to the scholarship weekend (was a possibility, I know a few ppl with lesser stats that got invited but it was always a reach) I doubt Miami is a realistic option anymore. Would have been great since it’s my alma mater, but just too expensive since she won’t get any need-based grants. Maybe we’ll be surprised, but I’m not counting on it.

@BeantownSchool the scholarship weekend registration has nothing to do with EA decisions coming out- in my opinion. However, I think people were speculating that since the scholarship weekend invites came out yesterday and they could register starting today at 6 pm, that they would have to be told of their admissions status PRIOR to that time or else they wouldn’t think to register for the weekends bc they wouldn’t know for sure that they were admitted. However in my opinion, I would think that they are admitted bc I can’t imagine that a college would invite one to come interview for a large scholarship and not have decided that they are actually accepting that person. And I guess people are thinking that if they have decided on the scholarship invitees, then they have decided on all EA applicants.
Aww that’s really sad. She can always receive merit scholarships from her major department and there is also the presidential scholarships as well as private scholarships. Those are the options that I am relying on (including need based, grants etc) in order to make my dream school a reality @Schadret You should keep trying. Also I feel like results will be released this week
Anyone who received an invitation to scholarship weekend is obviously accepted lol your stats are wayyyyy too high to be overlooked… Good luck to all my fellow underdogs tho <3 (we always win in the end)
