University of Michigan 2023 waitlisted applicants

I sent a LOCI stating additional reasons as to why I would like to attend, a minor update, and I also attached a letter of recommendation from a professor who used to work there. Was this too much? I know they didn’t want anything additional so I feel like I went overboard lol

@bsmd23 Not worth worrying about. The issue is probably how carefully they evaluate additional materials but a strong recommendation cannot hurt.

@TwoHearted Agree 100%. As for the “stats” part, from watching admissions at many highly competitive universities, that term now seems to have dubious value. There was a time high stats almost guaranteed admission but not anymore.

When will the first waitlist wave come out?

Last year 5/24

May 24th?! Yeah, if you have not already done so, I recommend putting down a deposit at another school just in case. I think most deposit deadlines are today.

I just checked the waitlisted thread from two years ago (class of 2021) and at least 4 reported acceptance to COE on 5/6 and several were accepted to LSA on 5/9. That makes a lot more sense–I can’t imagine why they would want to wait until 5/24 for a first wave.

My view decision button disappeared ?!
