University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

Has anyone received a rejection that we know of?

aren’t decisions just released on fridays?!?!?

@th3mindstorm3r Congratulations! Do you mind sharing your stats? Thanks.

As someone that has been through the whole waiting process last year, I just wanted to share some of my experience since I can clearly remember how I felt last year at this time.

Decisions will be released at different times by batches. There will not be a set date for the decisions to come out. Even if you still don’t hear back in March or in April, you still have chances of getting in. The time you hear back has nothing to do with your final decision.

From what I know, not completely sure, Umich generally don’t reject deferrals until the very end so it is unlikely for you to hear back early if you got rejected. However, do not let this discourage you.

High stats do help but my stats really weren’t high at all. Trust me when I say that they do a full review of your application. Give it some patience and you will get the answer you want.

I’ve seen some questions about Ross as well. Yes, your application will be reviewed by Ross Admissions after you get into michigan even if you get deferred first. Many Ross students were originally deferred by LSA or Engineering. Personally, I think Ross looks for unique people and cares less about stats so don’t let low stats scare you at all.

Lastly, Umich is truly an amazing school and I love it so much more now than when I originally applied. I’m sure you all deserve this opportunity so Best of Luck!!

They added links under Ross school application but no decision tab yet. Not sure if that means anything.

Same for my son- those links appeared today…

^ Same for me, what does it mean?

For those of you who have gotten accepted into LSA and applied to Ross, when did you notice your Ross links become active?

Everyone: None of this means a thing. Don’t waste your time looking at links and tabs or which deferral letter you got. None of it means a thing. I know you want to look for a sign that foreshadows your outcome. None of it is meaningful or helpful. It will come when it comes. There’s still PLENTY of time to get accepted.

our link became active today, was accepted LSA on the original notification date in December. I also dont think it means anything- but…

Hey guys. I haven’t been asked for mid year grades. Is that good or bad?

Hi Guys,
I had a question, has anyone been accepted to CoE post 24th December?
Thanks in advance

@fall2018applicantinternational1203 There are.

Are they releasing any decisions today?

Has anyone’s decision tab gone away? (Mine hasn’t but jw bc it’s 5pm)

I was accepted to LSA EA back in December. I declared my Area of Interest in Computer Science on the Common App.

Today, I was sent an invitation to Michigan Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (M-STEM) Academies.

Here’s what this invitation said in part:

“Because of your academic excellence, you have been nominated to participate in the Michigan Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (M-STEM) Academies. This program is for high achieving student scholars and is designed to enrich the academic experience by fully engaging students in all that the University of Michigan has to offer. Members of the M-STEM Academies community have the opportunity to participate in academic enrichment sessions, professional development activities, independent research, and technical-competency development in preparation for national and global leadership roles.”

I’m still trying to figure out what that’s about. Any thoughts about this program will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Seems to be something they are doing to transition students to college with extra support services to aid for success in college. I didn’t even know this existed. Seems like a great program and some of the programs they actually pay you to complete it and help getting summer internships. I would definitely look into it. University of Michigan is a very challenging college even for the best students out there. Any extra help you can get seems like a win /win to me.

@knowstuff, Thanks for posting the link.

I’m perplexed sitting here wondering what prompted the school’s nomination of me to this program. From the link you provided, it doesn’t seem that very many people are asked to join.

I wonder if UMich thinks I may have trouble transitioning to college so they’re offering this program to me? Hmmmmm…

Do I need to send in my most recent grades if I was deferred? I only ask this because I didn’t have an outstanding semester and I’m wondering if that could hurt me in the admission process.

That sounds like the Summer Bridge program.
