I think that’s true. I have a friend who got denied last year with 4.9 W/ 36 ACT. He got into Princeton but not U Mich.
Is it true that Michigan doesn’t always get through all of their EA applications so they get through the top applications and defer the rest?
I have heard that they defer people because they haven’t gotten through all the applications, but I’m not sure whether they look over the top ones first.
Will having a below average ACT score (27) ruin my chances? My UW gpa is 3.88 with 11 AP and honors
I don’t anything will completely ruin your chances. It just depends on the other aspects of your application and whether or not they think you will be a fit for UMich.
@piday314 I agree. Almost everyone accepted has a few weak parts in their applications (maybe GPA, test scores, essays, certain extracurriculars, application errors/typos, etc.). Applicants can make up for this with other strengths in their applications.
is there an EA group chat
Are results more likely to come out tuesday or wednesday?
Having seen a bunch of the same questions from constantly refreshing this thread the past few weeks, I’ll try to summarize what we know going into decision week:
Date of Decision: Friday at the latest. Some with “inside information” have said Tuesday/Wednesday. My gut says Friday.
Method: UM will send an email with the headline “Your Application Decision”. They might update the portal, who knows.
In-state vs. OOS: In-state has a much better chance of being accepted EA, mostly because UM assumes that most in-state people who are accepted will go there. Yes, high-stats OOS people might get deferred. You’ll get in RD, especially if you send a LOCI after the deferral.
“Rolling” Admissions: People who applied earlier in the application period will get their decision earlier. From other colleges that have a similar system so far this year, it’ll be a 2-3 day period of decisions rolling out.
Time of Decision: Basically everyone agrees that decisions will start going out on 3:00 P.M. Again, people who got their application in earlier will likely hear back first.
Ross/other PA schools: Decisions for Ross and the other PAs aren’t even evaluated until you’re accepted, and final decisions for these schools come in Jan/Feb.
of EA candidates: I've heard upwards of 35k from various sources. Compared to a couple other similar-ish schools in the region (UIUC 25k, UW 30k), this seems to hold up.
Good luck guys I’m just as stressed as the rest of you.
^ Wrong. Our decisions are coming via Santa for us to be opened Christmas morning. An inside source told me you’re rejected if naughty and accepted if nice…
When did everyone apply?
I actually heard elves come to your house and hand deliver your admission decision
@nursing2022 I sent mine in like three days before the deadline.
I submitted mine Oct. 31st haha
Submitted on the 23rd of October
I submitted mine on November 1st. I live on the edge I guess.
if I applied PA to Ross and EA to Michigan and get deferred and later accepted, am I still considered for Ross or no? what happens
I sent mine in August 5th, so I suppose I’ll get a decision back on the first day?
was Wisconsin really more selective this year? I got in but I know a few people who were deferred
I applied on October 29th, but materials were received on the 30th i think
