@nammyohorengekyo I applied on the 26th!! Still nothing, I called and they said to just keep checking the portal for the next few days
Haven’t heard anything back from UMich while everyone else from my school got a decision already. Sort of freaking out.
OOS
GPA: 4.325
ACT: 30
EC: track captain, started own club, leads other various programs, volunteer, has job (22hrs/wk), etc
note: also did the HAIL interview
Do we know the acceptance rate for deferrals in the RD round?
@nammyohorengekyo no I do not see anything additional required. It says she is a highly qualified applicant and if she would like to send her next set of grades, it could help push her up in the pool. But it is not required
Does anyone know the different types of deferrals and what they mean??
I have been telling people EA is not rolling and the decision time has nothing to do with when you submitted the application. Even with rolling in RD, earlier application does not guarantee earlier notice.
OOS COE, 32 ACT, GP 4.0 W / 3.9 UW.
Lots of ECs, leadership, captain multiple sports, mega service
Deferred
Hey everyone, I got deferred earlier today from umich as well. Wondering if it’s really even worth it to wait around until April when I have already been offered other opportunities at MSU… I want to go into medical school at Johns Hopkins but I didn’t want to go to them for my undergrad since it would cost me so much money. Wondering if I might as well give up on umich??? I mean April is a long time to wait even though I love the school’s campus and really had my eyes set on it for my undergrad. I was also thinking to go to umich possibly for med school as my second choice if I can’t go to my dream school, JH. Ik it seems awful to throw in the towel now if I really still want to go there, but what’s offered to me at MSU to me isn’t going to be there forever. I feel like in the end I will get accepted, but by that time I feel like it won’t be enough to make new plans for umich. Any advice??
when should i write my LOCI? handwritten or email?
@brownsie000 well i think you should not give up as of now because i read quite a few posts from older students where they got their answer back even before the RD applicants in about jan and feb. However that being said some people did hear from umich in april. So I think you should do a bit research and then make your decision or just wait for it because usually you have to accept offers by may right?
Accepted LSA in-state
1550 SAT 3.87 UM GPA
Top 5 High School in the state, regularly sends 60+ kids to UM
Good luck to everyone deferred, close friend was also deferred so I’m kinda depressed
FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING ASKED MID YEAR GRADES… Guys, are you sure that this is for midyear grades? Did you perhaps send in your first quarter grades? Because I did and I am not sure if that is an indication of they received that ahhhh!!!
So if we still haven’t heard There is still a chance to get in right? I’m worried the people who haven’t heard are rejected
Where exactly on the portal do you see the decision? Will it tell you when you click application status? Or do you have to do something else?
@calabasasxoxo Im worried about the same thing. I hope it is not true.
Got deferred as well. Second deferral this year. Not sure how to deal with this. Quite upsetting.
Deferred. OOS. 34 ACT, high GPA, 8 APs. Drama four years, school paper editor, two season sports. Strong essays and recommendation. What else do they want?!
@Momof3frommich @dannyphantom1 If you read older posts, you will see that the supposedly different types of deferral letters is a topic of much discussion. In truth, the wording is not significant. There aren’t “good” deferral letters and “bad” ones. Many students were ultimately admitted with each “type” of letter.
@Momof3frommich You are correct. Unless specified, nothing more is required. A single, sincere, LOCI is always a good idea but nothing more than that.
@thespian18 maybe its like people were saying that people with high stats get deferred.
If I.T doesn’t get posted today I’m going to faint
