I think a lot came over last weekend. Just hoping for an answer soon, good luck everyone!
Has anybody who applied to COE heard back yet?
I applied COE and I have not heard anything yet.
My daughter just announced she was accepted LSA on Tuesday. My second Wolverine. We are so happy!
Just checked wolverine access. Got accepted in CoE for computer science!

When will we receive our award letters or financial aid? ???
@Andyboy112. Congrats! In about a week, you’ll receive your emails, uniqname, letter in the mail, and transfer credit report. I’m still waiting for financial aid to be updated and orientation to open up! So excited for you!
I just got admitted today to the CoE for the Computer Sci Engr program! I finished up sending materials on Sep 30th.
I know I’ll be asked for my stats so: 3.9 GPA in high school, 30 ACT, 4.0 in college at CWRU, with 56 confirmed transferable credits.
how did you find out what credits transferred?
@bzone71
I was also admitted to COE for Computer Science BSE yesterday! It has been a long time coming to get to this point and I am just so relieved all the hard work finally payed off.
I know not everybody has heard back yet, but I am already thinking about housing for the winter. Splitting a place off campus with one person would be ideal and affordable in my opinion. If you are interested feel free to send me a direct message on here and we can find out if we are compatible and work something out. I am a 19 year old male.
If there is a separate thread for housing or a university sponsored site for finding potential roommates please let me know!
Best of luck to all who are still waiting
Hey @Andyboy112 ,
The first thing I did was figure out which classes are already confirmed to transfer. There is an LSA database and an ENGR database.
ENGR: http://apps.engin.umich.edu/equivalencies/
LSA: https://www.ugadmiss.umich.edu/TCE/Public/CT_TCESearch.aspx
As an Engr transfer, if the course was in either database, it was good to go. I don’t know if that changes for LSA.
Also useful is this section of the database that deals solely with online classes: http://apps.engin.umich.edu/equivalencies/courses/online
If the courses you have taken are not listed, you’ll have to figure out which of UM’s courses is most likely equivalent. Search through their classes and see which one matches the best, by looking at the LSA course guide: https://www.lsa.umich.edu/cg/
You’ll have to send them information about the course to be evaluated. At the very least, syllabus and exams. Honestly, send them everything you can get your hands on. That office is very busy, often times it may take them a while to reply, and it will simply be a message saying they need more information.
It IS a lot of work to figure all of this out, but you can do it! I have taken online classes from 3 other colleges besides my home institution in order to fulfill the transfer prereqs. It is easy to be overwhelmed but its not as difficult as it seems. Good luck.
Hello everyone, for those of you that were accepted (congratulations!!!) what class year are you?
Admitted into COE for Computer Science BSE.
Here are my stats:
In the first semester of my second year at a “not so prestigious” in-state 4 year university
Current GPA: 4.00 (This is important!)
Completed Credits: 54
Completed Credits after this semester: 69
Prerequisite course status: Completed all the prerequisites and ensured that they transferred directly to UMich (*This is very important!)
ACT: 36
HS Weighted GPA: 4.19
HS Unweighted GPA: 3.92
Current Extracurriculars: Systems Engineering Co-op (4 months)
1st Place in Michigan for Raw Powerlifting in Teen 3 class at 105 kg.
Past Extracurriculars:
Math and physics tutor (1 academic year)
Industrial Solutions Co-op (1 year)
Information Systems Co-op (1 year)
Various other environmental volunteering excursions
For those interested I did have 3 letter of recommendation submitted as well.
My acceptance for Winter 2017 is actually from rolling over my application for Fall 2016. I thought for sure I would be admitted for the fall since my GPA and ACT were so strong, but I learned quickly that to get into the COE the biggest determinants are:
Having all the prerequisite courses completed (or completed by time of transferring)
The prerequisite courses directly transfer to UMich
Your GPA in the prerequisite courses is exceptional
For Fall 2016 I was missing two prerequisite courses and many of the ones I took only transferred as “department credit”. I had to get the courses I already took reevaluated for credit and had to take a couple courses this semester to be admitted for Winter 2017.
Has anybody received their financial aid package yet? How long did it take to get it after you were admitted?
I have not heard anything yet. I called them and they said by late november
Hi everyone, congratulations to those applicants who got accepted. My application was marked complete around mid-September, and I wonder is there anyone still waiting for a decision from College of Engineering like me?
Has anyone been awarded a financial aid package yet?
For financial aid, I personally have not heard anything back. BUT if you didn’t put your social security number on your common app form you will need to either fax a copy of it or show it in person to make sure they can properly view your fasfa. Also, I had additional forms requested of me, that being income tax forms. Make sure to check wolverine access to make sure all your forms are in first, you don’t want to miss out on aid!
I just received my financial aid package today! I had been requested to send in my 1040 but that was it.
