How long after everything was submitted did you receive your financial aid? I want to make sure my financial aid is what I’m expecting before I put down my $300 deposit at the latest on the 1st of December. It’s cutting it close.
@97hannah I paid the deposit on November 7th and just checked wolverine access yesterday. It said that financial aid package was under review. Today, I was awarded my package.
Where at in wolverine access does it tell you if your financial aid package is under review?
@DivergentScholar when you go to login, click on Student Business. There will be a tab on the far “Financial Aid Information” you can click on this and a few extra tabs will open up, you can click on “My FA Status” and open the blue “2017” link. The next page should tell you it’s under review or give the award information. Before I found out about this link though, I was clicking around and found that I was required to send in my 1040 through the “documents” tab.
Honestly, I just clicked around on everything I could until links started to become active. But if you have any concerns, just call FA or email (email: financial.aid@umich.edu phone: 734-763-6600).
Hope this helps!
@97hannah I just realized what you said in the previous comment. I’m not positive but I was under the impression that FA couldn’t be awarded until you actually paid the $300 enrollment fee. I think they don’t process your information until you’re a guaranteed student. I could be wrong! But that’s what I thought. Let me know how it goes!
@jessaw6 I just e-mailed them to clarify whether or not I had to pay the enrollment deposit first. I didn’t want to pay the $300 until I knew I could afford it, you know? I can’t really make a lot of progress until my financial aid gets back & I make my deposit, then I can sign up for orientation, housing, etc. etc.
@97hannah Yes, I know exactly… I was hesitant too. It’s a lot of money for me! I was able to sign up for orientation earlier this week as well. I hope everything works out. Everything feels so last minute! It’s driving me crazy.
@97hannah Be sure to let us know what their response is. I am also waiting until I receive my financial aid package to pay the enrollment deposit.
I am still waiting for a decision from COE…
I got a response from them & you don’t have to pay the fee to be considered for financial aid first! Also, I called them and they can view my CSS profile, but it’s not registered in their system. They said to call back on Wednesday if it still isn’t showing up.
@97hannah Did they happen to mention if it is likely that accepted students will receive their financial aid awards by the enrollment deposit deadline of December 1st?
I am applying to University of Michigan for Fall 2017. Would any of those accepted be willing to read my essays? Thank you!
@DivergentScholar They said it takes 7-10 days from when the materials were received for you to get your financial aid back. I decided just to pay the deposit, if I lose the money so be it. I want to make sure I secure my place in the class.
Has anyone received an admissions decision later than 13th November from COE? I’m still waiting here. [-O<
Looks like I’m the only one who is still waiting for a decision from the admissions in this transfer thread. :-S
I’m still hoping for a positive outcome here. [-O<
@TimeWarp the COE is known to accept students later in the process, keep your fingers crossed!
Thanks, @97hannah . Two days ago, a senior admissions counselor emailed me that they were finalizing my application, and the decision should be out soon. Hopefully, I will hear back by this week.
For those applicants who got accepted into College of Engineering, may I know what time do you find out a decision from the Wolverine Access (W.A.)? And how long does it take to receive a decision email from the admissions after the decision is available on W.A. ? Thank you in advance.
Still nothing change in Wolverine Access… :-?
I checked mine at like 8 in the morning and that’s when I got the link on Wolverine Access saying “View Decision”. I got an email later in the afternoon. You won’t get a link on wolverine access unless you’re accepted I think. In that case, you’ll only get an email. Best of luck!
