Well apparently they don’t always ask cause they didn’t ask for mine.

Yes Jorabamama, I’m from Jackson, although I attend a different district through School of Choice. Michigan is my first choice and I’m very nervous to see if I have been accepted or not. Hopefully only one more week. :)

Jorabama - Also from southwest Michigan waiting for the U of M answer!

Grand Rapidian here likewise waiting.

December 23rd can’t come fast enough . . .

dksfjl;gjdf nervous.

See, the reason I point towards defferal is because I am from a very small, everybody knows everyone, all your parents graduated together, everyones house is down those long driveways or next to cows and always miles apart, we only have one stoplight town, in North Carolina. Since it’s out of state and so rural, it figures it’s be loads harder for me to get into a school such as Michigan.

Oh THANKS a LOT, gunit5~ Good luck everybody~!

Just to clear things up. The date is for sure Dec.23. The Dean of Admissions comes to my school (we are a feeder) every year and told us that everything will be released on the 23rd.

so, 9 days after everyone else knows most major schools, kudos to Michigan for killing my nervous system twice.

Releasing all the decisions on the same day would crash the server…

I agree. I highly doubt that they will release decisions all at once. They’re more likely to come out in two waves. I’m more inclined to think that most decisions will be released before the twenty-third so that they don’t have to deal with an onslaught of calls right before Christmas. Who knows though, right?

Well I don’t know what to think anymore! My daughter did rolling admission, not EA. I called to find out when she might hear. The first person told me they are not doing rolling decision anymore, despite the fact that the website and application indicate that they are. She said everyone who did not do EA would find out at the same time in April. April! We can’t wait that long, she’ll miss out on chances of getting in to other schools. So I called again to question it, and was told that they are doing rolling decisions and she could hear by the end of January. Confused, I tried an online chat help with admissions, and that person confirmed that they would be releasing all decisions in April. Does anyone have a clue what is true?

What other schools make you commit before May 1st unless you’ve already committed to ED?

just got an email from michigan that said:
“ALL admissions decisions will be sent via email from Michigan.Admissions@umich.edu with the subject line “Your University of Michigan Admissions Decision””

“Decisions will be released to the email address you provided on your application. Students who have been admitted will also receive paper correspondence as well.”

and

“The application status link in the New & Prospective Student Portal on Wolverine Access will be unavailable until all decisions have been released via email. The system will be available again for students no later than December 23.”

hope this helps people, it just builds up the suspense for me haha

my friend got an email saying he will receive a decision BY the dec17… ?

I got the same email that stated that the decisions would be out by the 23rd. MichiganGirl15, whoever told you that is lying.

aglages, the other school we are considering applying to doesn’t really make you commit, but they do all their acceptances on a rolling basis, and as soon as you send your deposit in, your spot is secured. they stated that waiting could cause you to lose your chance at a spot if the freshman class fills up prior to you sending your deposit.

FYI for those of you who did Early Action, admissions did tell me that all decisions have already been finalized and would be sent out soon. Wish we were among them!

I got the same email and it said December 23rd.

On another note, I’m almost positive all the decisions have been made by now. My dad had to call the admissions office about an hour ago because my school messed up my classes on my transcript. He called asking if there was still time to fix it and the lady on the other end said exactly this: “It’s too late to do anything about it now, but if by chance you receive a deffered decision, you may send in additional information then. However, I think you’ll be okay.” My dad said it sounded as if she was staring at a decision on a computer screen while she was talking to him. It almost sounds like she was discreetly giving him a hint about my decision? But who knows haha.

■■■■ there are 2 different emails?

1) 17th is mentioned

2) 23rd is mentioned

which one is denial and which one is accepted, are you guys sure your email said 17th…

can someone post what the 17th email says

Did anyone else do the “rolling decision” and do you have any idea when we will hear?
