@StevenW, @laxlover11 I applied to kinesiology sport management EA. 3.9 gpa, 1450 sat. OOS Deferred in December. Haven’t heard anything more.
Hey man can you link the article from Erica Sanders. Thanks!
Who signed your deferral letter? Mine was from Erica Sanders, but I just scrolled through a thread from 2010/11 where there were some letters signed by the regional counselor and some by the director. I thought it was interesting, let me know
However, it could (most likely) be a minor discrepancy I, along with others, are reading into.
To the people who are accepted so far: I see some of you just “called the admissions office.” What did you tell them on calling? Did you ask for your decision or express interest in the school or what?
You don’t need to call the admission office. Send your letter of continued interest to your regional admission officer instead.
Yes I am.
My email starts with “Thank you for your freshmen application to The University of Michigan College of Literature…” which isn’t one that I saw a lot of others get, is that bad?
@sarahmia I have the same beginning. I wouldn’t worry about it. Does yours continue to talk about the high app volume and sending in mid year grades?
How can I find out who my local rep is for the LOCI?

Go to this link and scroll the bottom and select “high school”. After putting your location in you should be able to find it.
@letsgoblue1234 my LOCI reply email does but my deferral letter doesn’t
@hhammoud23 Thank you! That’s what I was looking for.
@sarahmia That’s odd. I am not sure then, I’m sorry! I wouldn’t worry about it because it’s so minor.
I’m going to send my LOCI either tonight or tomorrow, but should I was wondering how concerned I should be that I didn’t hear back about my deferral on this past Friday. My twin sister (we go to the same school) got in on Friday with the same SAT score (1430) and slightly better grades. Michigan is one of my top schools so I’m kind of worried because from what this forum has said, the earlier you hear back as a deferred applicant for RD, the better.
To anyone who sent a LOCI: did you get a response? I sent mine to my regional admissions counselor and I sent one to erica sanders around 2-3 weeks ago and have not recieved a response.
Additionally, to anyone who was accepted: did you get a response on your LOCI (if you sent one)
I did get a response - I got the ‘bad response’ which basically says don’t get your hopes up and keep your options open! (I know these are template responses but I am choosing to read into them - as one version is much more positive than the other)
@oliverwalke - you are the third twin pair I’ve heard of this year (different schools all of them) where the sister sib. gets in before the brother despite similar test scores (assuming you are a guy by your moniker). Out of curiosity what was your gpa and what was hers? Unweighted if possible please. Also, did you both apply to the same program of study or - ?
When people talk about a LOCI, do they mean a quick email stating their intent to enroll? Or are people attaching files with an actual letter that is longer in length? I sent a short, to the point email to my regional admissions counselor in mid-January after being deferred, and got a one sentence response that no one else has mentioned getting. This is my dream school and as I am out of state, I’m worried I may just get lost in the pile. Should I send an email with an actual letter? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
