University of Michigan Class of 2023 - Deferred Applicants

:frowning: Sorry to hear but Purdue is a great alternative so congratulations and be proud!. UChicago is releasing results today? Did you receive an email to check your portal?

Just realized it was ED2 results today, I guess we keep waiting for RD

@Zeylanite I only have the video application data beside the view credentials and I’m a deferred EA applicant but I never saw a decision button, I knew about my deferral from the email since the portal didn’t really say anything

@Mojo88 how do you know today is only early action applicants?

I’m pretty sure the deferred EA apps that were pushed to RD are in the same pool as RD. I think that everyone left waiting is RD. However, I could be wrong.

Sorry, don’t mean to derail the UMich thread here with UChicago stuff - but with regard to that, EDII was set for UChicago today and the portal says RD applicants will hear in early to Mid March. It looks like UMich will continue to notify in waves, based upon what we’re seeing in CC and in previous CC threads for UMich

@letsgoblue1234 You’re correct.

But I like to believe that an EA-deferred applicant w/LOCI or some type of additional communication with admissions, who’s now considered RD, all other things being equal with post 11/01/18 RD candidates, gets a bump for “demonstrated interest.”

That’s my belief, but I have absolutely no proof whatesoever. That’s just how I’d think as an AO.

@sushiritto I would hope so too!

@sarahmia that’s interesting. Mine was there since EA deferral

What time were decisions released for the Feb. 1st wave?

@Mojo 88 Thanks bro, really appreciate it. Have a great weekend y’all

Tab is still there for me. Did anyone else’s disappear?

It’s still there for me too. Starting to lose hope that they’ll release anything tonight!

I think we will need to wait until March 1. more weeks to hold out hope for admission. Enjoy the fact that we are still in the game.

Midnight EST.

Should be an interesting March and April - just hope it does not drag out until May.

Is waitlist common? Does it usually happen later like end of April?

In prior years, waitlisted and rejected candidates begin to roll out with the end of March/early April “wave.” This year the date should be Friday 4/1, if UMich follows the same pattern(s).

My decision tab is still here too.
