University of Michigan Deferred Applicants Class of 2022

the portal is down for me right now and it’s in the hours of operation

Beginning to reconsider UMich. Local, in state schools are responding with offers, aid and scholarships and they all look good. Thinking transfer in Junior year might be a better route.

My portal has never had a decision tab, even though I was deferred in December. When I click on application status, all that does up is “view credentials” and “view application data”. Should I be worried. Again, I’ve never had a “view decision” on that page like all the rest of you have been saying you have once had or still have.

@gracekelliee How did you know you were deferred? Just from an email?

@gracekelliee When you check your credential, is there anything shown as received after November? It sounds like a no decision deferral due to incomplete application. In other words, was your application appeared as EA qualified in the status?

@Whitman6838 yes, i received an email december 20th. & @billcsho i got an email saying that i qualified for early action & all my information is complete in the portal. i’m not sure what else could be wrong.

Well. You may be among the 500 or so sitting on the border that they could not come to a decision by 12/24. If that is the case, your chance at RD is good.

What 500 or so? First I have heard of this. Are you sure you don’t have some “inside” info? Lol!

@Blizzard1 Read the news article about UMich admission I linked earlier. If you don’t follow the game for years, there are many public information you don’t know. LOL.

My S was deferred, mid-year grades downloaded by UM today but not updated yet on WA. However, his Ross Business links (application data and credentials) are suddenly active, and did not appear before. Is this meaningful?

My Ross Business links are just now active as well. Not sure if it means anything.

Think we broke the portal. It’s down again.

Same here… Decision has not changed. But, Ross links active now.

When I was deferred, my letter said that other than mid-year grades, “the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision.” I took that to mean I shouldn’t send in a LOCI. Was that a mistake?

@notagoddess1208: Don’t overthink things. Get off CC for a while, and check back only on Fridays.

Same here, decision has not changed but Ross links became active today as well. What does this mean? Has anyone’s Ross links not become active or has everyone’s become active today?

Another way of asking… People who got accepted to LSA last week or in December (and have applied to Ross), did you notice when your Ross links became active?

I got deferred from LSA and have not heard a second decision. My Ross tabs became active today also. It says online that Ross usually starts sending out decisions in February, so they will likely start soon.

As of now, Ross admission result would not occur before your LSA admission. So basically that means the recent change in the Ross tab has nothing to do with upcoming admission soon. Perhaps it is just a house keeping activity to prepare for all the Ross admission and rejection release between now and April. They have over 5000 entries to update.

@billcsho I understand the process… But, don’t get why that is the process. Do you know if they review Ross applications with a different lens than regular LSA applications? I would like to think that the qualifications and skillset required to be a great business school student doesn’t necessarily have to be the same as what it takes to be great in L, S or A.
