University of Michigan Deferred Applicants Class of 2022

Just stalked last year’s thread for a bit, seems like the next wave would most definitely be Friday, March 9. Today was a false alarm, should’ve known as nobody got any decisions last year the Friday before and during spring break.

This sux

was there only one wave of decisions so far?

We cannot base everything off of what happened last year because then we would of had two waves of decisions in February.

This sucks. If you’re gonna defer that many people can you at least give some closure a little earlier smh.

@helpmegetinlol The yield theory has been around for years but really doesn’t contribute much to the discussion. UM has made thousands of offers to candidates with outstanding stats. What is undoubtedly true is that with each round of admissions, the process gets more competitive. It is however still early (only February).

@tt8082 Understand what you are saying. The reality is that after late March, the chances of being admitted are vanishingly small. That provides a sense of closure in reality if not in fact.

My 10 month anniversary since I submitted my application is tomorrow but I’m still deferred :expressionless:

That’s not possible. CommonApp started in August.

I’m pretty upset about this. Slept in my Michigan sweater and blanket for good luck, all to hear nothing. Fantastic!

Meant 6 months. Don’t know what I was thinking when I typed that. Well it’s been half a year

Happy 6 month anniversary

Some people at my sisters school found out today but I still have nothing :frowning:

My friend got hers last night! She was accepted

Has anyone else heard yesterday or today?

Was she accepted into LSA?

How did they find out? Through their portals?

I really do think it depends on when they submitted midyear reports and LOCI and all that good stuff because If you’re below average for Michigan, they really want to see if you’re a good candidate. Last year, a girl in a program my friend is in at the moment (also applied to Michigan), was accepted with an ACT of 21, so you never really know.

Yeah some kids started getting rejected

@Nursing13711 At least we are all still being considered.

@dtakarafa yes
