University of Michigan Deferred Thread!

^…?

not you, thisgirlisaG (sorry if you thought i was referring to you). Lawlgagsdeferred knows what i mean.

^ somebody above was being a real ■■■■■.

not me. I have a unique situation perhaps i got deferred because my teacher rec talked about my poor social skills and they’re afriad to let someone in who might be a little socially inept

Wow. No offense abtar but you really have to be pathetic to get a recommendation that says that there’s something wrong with you.

Also, LolyGAGha, I hope you get in. And, good luck to the rest of you I guess.

"^ somebody above was being a real ■■■■■.

not me."

hmm, really?

Wow abtar just looking at your posts and I can see that you do need some work on your social skills. No offense. Maybe you could have gotten your rec from a different teacher? And I was trying to defend you earlier, I called you weird but that wasn’t meant as an insult. I’m just saying no one has to be mean to you even if you are a little eccentric how does that sound?

yeah, like i have trouble understanding when people are joking vs serious and i easily get mixed up with negative connotations of something versus positive connotation of what someone is saying, i admit to being socialy inept and to be honest, it kind of sucks being an outcast.

yes, it was pathetic of me to find a teacher who talked about the abysmal state of my social skills. He said I was good academically, though. But, all my teachers don’t really like me and he’s the only one who had a neutral opinion on me so despearte for a teacher, i picked that teacher. now i regret it, though

Abtar, you honestly might want to see a therapist. I’m not trying to call you crazy but you do seem to need a lot of help with your social skills. Maybe a therapist can help you with that because you will probably have a very hard time in life if you don’t get help while you’re still young. And don’t take this offensively because I’m trying to give you some advice. Even if you do make it into UM, how will you get a job with really bad social skills in the real world?

^lulzzzzzzzzz

Seems to me that if you don’t get an acceptance by April 2, chances are that you will be one of the 9,000 people notified about a waiting list on April 15. Almost all other colleges notify by April 1. Most students can’t wait longer than that to make a decision because they risk being shut out for orientation, housing, financial aid, class registrations, etc.

BTW, having 9,000 people on a waiting list is worse than a participation trophy in U10 soccer. Treat these applicants like grown-ups. They can handle rejection.

it doesnt seem like people are hearing though…

lol, i think abtar5 is just ■■■■■■■■ us all.

as for hearing by april 2nd thing:

is that really true? i agree with mustard, barely anyone’s gotten any response yet. and plus, michigan said to expect by mid-april, so we still got some time.

Hey everyone,

I know it sucks being deferred, but as a current U of M student I have a number of friends that didn’t find out that they were accepted until mid-April. Just because you may not hear back until April does not make you automatically waitlisted or rejected. Good luck to you all and hang in there!

^thanks liz, we need this kinda positive news!!!

Applied in October and was places on “pending list” which meant my application was pending my first two trimester grades because I got two C’s in my last trimester junior year

When I applied originally I had a 3.57 GPA and 28 ACT, varsity golf captain lengthy work experience and plent of extra curricular stuff.

Since then my GPA is now 3.63 and a 29 ACT and have added recommendations from my state senator, former state representative who was captian of 1960 football team, and cousin who graduated from Ross. I also won Outstanding Youth at my city awards banquet.

What does everyone think of my chances and what were the decisions for those with similar stats?

so wait, how many rec’s did you send in?^^

hey, just wanted to let you know, I got in from the deferral pool back in March 22nd. But. I know a guy who got accepted from the waitlist pool on JUNE 14th…

SO don’t lose hope! Good Luck

JUNE 14th!!! Wow that is pathetic someone would have to wait that long but if that’s what it takes I’m all gooood
