University of Michigan EA class of 2020 thread

@25senior25 Exactly. thats why I asked for the text. there are good deferrals and bad. Yours seem good to me.

@emilyskates what school did you apply to?

@sunbeams He will feel better. The Star Wars movie is one of the best I’ve ever seen :’)

Are there any acceptances in this wave???

Rejected
34 Act
3.9 gpa
13 AP’s
LSA
It’s cool though I did early decesion to Yale

@akhilles They sent me an e-mail at 4:50

Deferred with a 34 ACT, 770 Math II, multiple quality business ECs, a 3.9 UW GPA, and a very difficult schedule. Thankful for Northeastern <3

I really hope, UM is my top choice

@WAGTCB yes. I and at least three other kids from my school just got in. Both in LSA and COE

No email. No “view decision”. I guess I’m in limbo then

Do you guys know how UMich sends out invites to apply to the LSA honors program?

I know only some people get the invite, and it comes with the decision, but there was no invite in the acceptance e-mail that I received. Does it come with the official letter?

And has anyone gotten an invitation yet?

What did a rejection letter say???

Has anyone gotten into Ross yet?

Yeah im from Chicago and I was deferred. 31 ACT and 3.89 UW GPA and 4.23 W GPA.

@jcampion you dont find out about that until like march or april. regardless of EA or not

Yes, @tbhbulls, last year there were a ton of very qualified students that applied EA and were deferred in Dec but then were admitted in late January.

@cuitee8 thanks! so am I and I haven’t gotten a decision yet. also good luck everyone this is not fun but I’m sure everyone will end up where they are supposed to

im on the prospective student portal, but i dont see a button! WHERE IS IT

@UMParent2015 Thanks!

Dear _______:

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2016. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2016.

Strong fall semester or trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward them when they become available. Beyond that, we are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision. The most successful candidates send us only what we require. Please refer to the website https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2080 for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next.

We hope your interest in Michigan continues. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Erica L. Sanders
Interim Director
