University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

Results started coming out shortly after 10 AM on December 20th last year and then decisions were rolled out throughout the weekend. However, Dec 20th was on a Friday last year so we’re hoping that equates to results being released starting on Dec 19th this year.

@Arborite who did you hear from?!

This might be a dumb question but if we get accepted and its our top choice, can we withdraw all our other apps? Even though U of M isn’t early decision? I don’t hear the rest of mine until March and U of M is my top choice anyways so I’d rather not take up extra spots anywhere else possibly

@tedonan‌, Yeah you can, but god forbid you get rescinded, you’d be screwed. Why not just leave the other apps in lmfao? It doesn’t affect you. Maybe withdraw some of them, I wouldn’t do all.

@tedonan Remember, you won’t get your financial aid package with your EA decision. If money is important to you, you might want to keep applications in play at your financial safeties.

Regarding the point about being rescinded–withdrawing of offers of admission typically takes place at the culmination of a student’s academic year, once all the grades are in. Even if you’ve gotten acceptances from other schools in that time, ethics require that you deposit only at one college, so you’ll have turned down other offers by that point, anyway.

@Finnlet‌
Lol I forgot to apply for financial aid altogether… Oh well I’m OOS anyways

@NorthernKev You still have time to submit CSS profile and FAFSA is not even open yet. Other than several scholarships, there is no separated application for financial aid other than CSS profile and FAFSA.

@billcsho‌ When is the CSS due for UMich?

@Prodigee The absolute deadline for FAFSA and CSS profile is April 30, but one should really submit them between Jan and March. You may submit CSS profile as early as you want while FAFSA is not open until New Year day.

@billcsho‌ i did EA, is it okay if i submit CSS in like end of January?

@billcsho‌
But the Net Calculator predicted that UMich will give me 0 dollah. :(

I called and they do not want CSS until you know it is right and do not have to make corrections. So basically ASAP in 2015 when you do FAFSA

This may be a silly question, but I am going to ask anyway. Does anyone think that the decisions could be released this Friday, the 12th? They released it on the 14th a couple of years ago, so answers have been released early before…

Unlikely, judging by the umich tumblr account’s response saying it will be very close to deadline. Each year they keep getting more and more applicants too. My estimate is between Dec. 17-19th.

@tennisluv101‌ me too!! fingers crossed!

Appreciate it! Go blue!

@elise12. I would say U of M is a little bit of a reach for you because you are out of state. You still have a good shot, even if you are deferred early action. Don’t sweat it too much. Good luck!
