University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

Anyone know what time on Friday decisions are being released

I called the admissions office yesterday and they said it was highly unlikely that decisions come out before the 24th due to the amount of applicants

I’d say with Christmas, there is no way the let the decisions linger that close to the holiday.

Hmm I wonder why they said that then

They came out on the 20th in the morning last year, just hoping they come out around then again…

I knew there was a high volume of applications but no earlier than the 24th seems hard to believe. Can anyone confirm what gilmoregirl97 said? Whenever I call the admissions department, all the representatives are occupied by other callers and it forces me to hang up.

I called with my counselor yesterday!! I was shocked, but I think they might just be saying that because they don’t want to give off an exact date

Do we have to check site or will they send us an email? Anyone know?

email

My friend asked our school counselor and the counselor said the decisions would most likely be this Friday at around 5pm so that people can’t all call and complain

Just got deferred from UChicago. If I get the same thing from UMichigan then my Christmas would the the most terrible time in my life.

Is there any chance the decisions come out today or tomorrow?

I noticed this statement on the admissions website and wonder whether it is relevant to the timing of notifications: “NOTE: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will not offer Walk-In Advising on Friday, December 19 from 12:00-3:00 pm.” (good luck to all!)

Decisions almost always start rolling out on Fridays. As mentioned before, there is a reason for this. Decisions can take several hours to even a day or two after they start releasing them. Releasing the decisions on a Friday allows them to release all or nearly all the decisions over the weekend without the threat of students calling frantically questioning when they will get there decision. Also, it allows the emotions of deferred applicants to die down over the weekend to prevent unnecessary calls to the admissions office.

I think they have already finished making decisions… Well hopefully tomorrow but it not then Friday would be the best timing. So Do they send you an e-mail when you are deferred? So If I not get an email then hopefully I can expect admission?

So nervousssss

no all decisions are by email

@gilmoregirl97 Do they email u ur decision or do they just let uk the email is up and u login to Wolverine Access to find out

They email you the decision is what I have heard!!

ahhhh. t-minus 42 hours until the moment of truth.
